Let's not change history. People didn't doubt him but he was underperforming for a stretch of few years with really frustrating finishing.
Had a year where he was undisputed starter yet scored 5 goals in a whole La Liga season.

He had some good years and some bad years

But i feel like he was never given credit for, even when he was doing well.

Don Karim Benzema. Stepped up big time since CR7s departure.

Our most decisive player since last season. We need to get him some help meaning the other forwards need to find their scoring boots. But he deserves a lot of praise for the important goals he has been scoring.

He's doing the Raul. After good start (minus his first year) to his career he had a major dip in form only to have a renaissance to help carry the team through a transition period.

Don’t trust him, let’s see if he can have a consistent season and contribute in the bigger games, an unpopular view at this point no doubt but my view just the same

Benz is an incredible footballer ...the most technically gifted 9 in the world ...there simply is no one like him (as a 9)...

Problem is ...he never scored quite enough to be amongst the most elite strikers in terms of statistics.

If Benz continues on this path and scores as many as those considered the best strikers....we’ll be able to definitely say that’s he’s the best 9 in the world......because in terms touch...passing....creativity, none of the other 9s can touch him ....not the Liverpool front 3 ....not Suarez....not Lewa...not Aguero ...not Griezmann

    Just keep scoring..and you’re it!

    50% of our goals
probably wins more points than Messi
I think it's clear enough to say he's the best

In the calendar year 2019, Benzema has 9 header goals. No other striker in the top 5 European leagues has more header goals than that.

but according to the common caricature of Karim, he’s a 10 with no presence in the box. Baloney

We really gonna argue that he's better than Ronaldo at headers (or Bale, Ramos, etc.)

He's got good height, so he's always been better than average in the air. Not sure anyone's ever criticized him for this.

Think it's fair to say he could have done better in some seasons but yeah, CR7 was our main man, He was more of a striker than Benzema. It makes sense.

But I'm glad he's now more focused on scoring since CR left. #9s are rare in today's football. Hope Karim keeps his good form for some years. And I hope Jovic becomes a WC striker as well.

He had a consistent season last season and scored 28 goals which is more than most of the big name “pure” strikers in the Premier League, Serie A and Bundesliga. Without him, the team would be in the Europa league now.

It’s not his fault that he can’t carry the team all himself against difficult opponents when no one showed up.

Be careful lads, don’t praise any of our players too much. Some one will come along soon enough and tell you how shit they are.

Benzema is a club legend, not a bad word on the guy. 10 years at Real Madrid (as a striker no less!) is an incredible achievement in itself. Keep up the good work, Karim! :inlove:

Since Benzema became a father he's been an absolutely exemplary professional. No scandals, no problems, nothing in the newspapers.

I have been saying this since early 2018. One day, I watched Benzema. Suddenly, I realised what Zidane and others saw in him. "He makes Ronaldo a better player," I wrote here. That statement did generate a lot of negative comments here, but I remained faithful to that comment. "Ronaldo is the GOAT without anybody", everyone was saying at the time. Yes, I agreed. But our winning formula in the 4 CL winning seasons was about focusing on Ronaldo and Benzema was a big part of that formula. In football, we have Yorke and Cole, Ronaldo and Romario, and Pirlo and Gattuso. I am not comparing Benzema/Ronaldo to them..... I understand Ronaldo was too good.... I completely understood. Benzema's role in the 4 CL winning seasons should be appreciated by fans of Real Madrid. He was willing to be Ronaldo's sidekick and I believed that Ronaldo understood and appreciated what Benzema did for him.

I mean, people rarely visited this thread to praise Benzema lol.

Recently, Benzema has been productive & helped RM win decisive points against Granada & Brugge. Even against Atletico, Benzema played great and scored a great header that could've been a game-winning 1-0 goal if Oblak (best GK itw) hadn't made a fantastic save.

The way people talks about Benzema here, you would think he's a bonafide scrub :ROFLMAO:

Calling him a club legend is an understatement.

Benzema is easily one of the best players in the club's history.
