Round 4 After 2 draws in the first three rounds, three games this weekend were draws. Salzburg continued their winning streak. Linz drew with newcomer Wattens to break their winning streak. Mödling got their first point drawing with Austria WIen. Rapid and WAC moved up with their wins.

Another big win for Salzburg, maintaining their 4 goals a game differential..WAC moved closer to second as they won at Linz. Sturm, Hartberg and Rapid won on the road to separate the top half from the bottom.

Mattersburg won the battle at the bottom on the table and moved from 11th to 7th.

Salzburg continued to dominate. LASK won at St. Pölten moving back into 2nd, while WAC drew to Tirol. With a win at Altach, Mattersburg moved past Tirol, Austria Wein, and Altach. St. Pölten and Mödling slipped further from the pack.

The top six have been constant since week 4 when WAC recovered from losing two of their first three games.

Another emphatic win for Salzburg. Goal difference is back closer to +4 per game. Admira Mödling earned a first win of the season. Still in last place, but now only a point behind fellow Niederösterreich club St. Pölten and two behind Altach. They've closed the gap. Austria Wien got a much-needed win to move back into 7th, now just one point out of the Championship Group spots.

Salzburg is still a force in the Austrian Bundesliga, and they boast an incredible 2.6 points per match average. Normally, they'd be way out in front of the rest of the pack. But this year, LASK is keeping pace (2.5 points per match), and even third-place Wolfsberger AC boasts an impressive 2.0 points per match.

Still undefeated, Salzburg dropped points for the third time this season with a draw against St. Pölten. Meanwhile, LASK has won 7 straight and sits only one point behind the leaders.

There's a nice gap now between the top and bottom halves of the table. Sixth-place Hartberg is 8 points ahead of seventh-place Austria Wien. At the bottom of the table, Altach, Admira, and Mattersburg all have 10 points.

Admira won the battle of the two bottom clubs to leap over Tirol and move three points clear of last-place Mattersburg. And two wins in a row by Altach has them up to 8th place.

Salzburg went down a man after only 15 minutes on the road against a top-half side. And it was looking like perhaps their first defeat of the season when Hartberg took the lead on a PK ten minutes into the second half. But five minutes from the end, Salzburg managed to level the match to remain undefeated. Actually outshot the home side and held the possession advantage. Not bad on the road and down a man almost the entire game...

Round 19

Salzburg 2 - 3 LASK

The rest of the round will be played over the weekend, but this opening match of the spring part of the season is extremely noteworthy. Not only did Salzburg suffer their first defeat, they did so at home. First home defeat in the Bundesliga since November 2016! All the stats, including a couple shots off the woodwork, favored Salzburg in this game except the score, so seems like an unlucky result for them.

And with the incredible win, LASK takes over the top spot in the table! It's probably been years since Salzburg wasn't atop the league in the spring. But they also lost Haaland to Dortmund over the break, so it's definitely not going to be a cakewalk to the title as in years past.

The big match of the round was between the top two and saw LASK take the lead in the Bundesliga. But the third- and fourth-place clubs Rapid and WAC both closed the considerable gap on Salzburg a bit with home wins.

With three rounds left before the table splits, Austria Wien is on the wrong side of the line, six points behind Hartberg. That's a big gap to make up in three matches and avoid ending up in the Relegation Group.

With a win over WAC, Tirol climbed within goal differential of the relegation slot!
