    Serious Foul Play? What's that?

Three very good candidates for SFP reds tonight.

Above is Manneh's follow through on Gonzalez Pirez.

Two more in Portland. The first one that injured Paredes was missed completely. Second one resulted in the late penalty for RBNY and saw Moreira go in very hard with studs over the ball. Yellow shown.

No, the commentator said it was a bad call because he bounced his foot over the ball before smashing into the opponent.

Fourth official for LA vs MTL is now Michael Radchuk.

Probably related to Snyder's performance in the NWSL game between Carolina and Houston on Tuesday.

Not how the MLS chooses 4th Officials, Radchuk was obviously swapped in because of his much cooler name.

No sanction for Savarese clapping at and staring down the 4th official? Where is the respect for the game? Ridiculous they allow this stuff -- it only propagates to the lower levels.

Why would a FO position be rescinded? Does PRO do that often?

Um ... is it fair to say that Penso was just chased off the field in Atlanta?

That's what it looked like to me. #7 San Jose was in his face for the last 6-7 minutes.

And Almeyda took his sweet time clearing out after Penso dismissed him. Any idea what that was about? (I was watching in Spanish.)

Oh man ... I didn't even realize he had sent off Chris Wondolowski from the bench too.

Almeyda was just before the second ATL goal, and I believe Wondo just after.

Would Almeyda just not get out of the 4O's ear?

If that initial shirt hold occurred while the ball was in play, quite probably. I'd have to watch again for the timing of it all.

EDIT: Yep, penalty for me if he doesn't score.

With 1 foul committed by Montreal tonight, Kevin Stott has set a new record for fewest fouls called against either team in a single match (and fewest fouls called against an away side, obviously). The combined total of 8 fouls is good for 2nd fewest all-time. Michael Kennedy holds that record with 7.

VAR with a huge impact on the LAFC-TOR game. With LAFC down 1-0 at 90’+, TOR commits a 100% no-doubt foul in the penalty area. Unkel missed the call initially (may have been a difficult angle or a lot of bodies in the box), but VAR calls for review, the penalty is awarded and the game ends 1-1. When people ask (usually rhetorically) what’s the point of having VAR—that’s the point of having VAR.
