any idea how the card was earned? Wien scored an own goal 6 minutes later and ended up with a 2-2 draw
From what I've read, it was a DOGSO in the area, so EPB got a red and a penalty kick was awarded to Hartberg. Tadic kicked it straight to the keeper though. Three minutes after that, Hartberg tied thanks to a Klein own goal.
if the offending player makes a legitimate play on the ball...so grabbing an opponent and holding him back is not a legitimate play...nor would be slapping the ball away with your hands. Looks like a grab that started outside the box and continued into it...technically a pk, but I'd have expected a kick from outside the box, especially with a red card
Most Austria Wien fans liked his debut, despite the red card. Quote Trequartista_07 "Palmer-Brown was a positive surprise for me, very solid in defense and a good build-up play." TM forum with player ratings https://www.transfermarkt.de/5-spie...austria-wien/thread/forum/102/thread_id/16024
That's great to hear. If he can be solid this season, it will greatly pay off later. He's not so far away from a potential call-up.
Denying an Obvious Goal Scoring Opportunity. Basically, if you foul a player when there’s no one else between them and the GK, its a DOGSO and the punishment goes up.
Naive defending by EPB there. What else is the attacking player going to do in the box when he is goal side of you and you have your hand on his chest, other than to fall backwards.
Austria Wien competed in two friendlies during the international break. First was a 2-0 win over Austria Klagenfurt in which EPB went 75 minutes. The second was an 8-0 drubbing of Mannersdorf in which EPB played the first half. He scored the second in the 25th minute, a header to the far side of the goal off a corner.

Austria Vienna has never been relegated, and with Rapid nd Salzburg they have ruled Austria for decades. After today's loss, they're third from last (antepenult). I don't think this has ever happened before, at least not in the last 30 years and after a third of the regular season played.
And Brown continues his ominous record of being associated with clubs moving the wrong way in the table. Never a good look.
I checked club's match roster for the past game this weekend, found EPB is not in 18. Is he suspended / injured or not in their plan?
