Bruno Paz renewed until 2023 with a 45m euro release clause. The academy product said he is very happy to sign a long term deal and wants to build a great career at SCP.

From what I remember he played a couple of games this season and looked promising. Not sure how many minutes he will get this season but hopefully we get a chance to see him again in action.

Matheus Pereira saw a red after 4 minutes in a Bundesliga match... the fastest ever red card in Germany.

He's had a poor season where he hasn't scored. Another player who seems to have talent but not the mental capacity to kick it up a notch.

Felix Correia, 18 year old RW in our U19 youth team, is rumoured to be the target for Barcelona. They compare him to Ousmane Dembele and want him to join their B team.

Cool. So he can ruin his career like Edgar Ie and Agostinho Ca.

I think he has a contract until 2020 so we should probably probe him for a contract renewal, if he acts like an idiot then bench him for a year and a half.

Seems like Felix doesn't even have that good of a reputation here. Barcelona's academy must be struggling. Either way, I feel like he won't go.

Joelson Fernandes, winger from the youth team who has impressed with his above average technical ability is now training with the senior team. Kid just turned 16 but apparently was the best player. He signed a contract with a 45M euro release clause.

Francisco geraldes started for the u23 team just hours after coming on for the last few minutes of the league match. The player was unconvincing at best. Jovane and Miguel Luis also featured and weren't that great.

When is it about time to let this kid go? It seems he has some quality but doesn't seem to have his head in the game.

SCP announce that they have signed 12 footballers to professional contracts. The president said that there have been many offers for these youngsters from top clubs but the club managed to persuade them that this is the best club to grow.

Diogo Almeida, Alexandre Lami, Rodrigo Rego, Eduardo Quaresma, Nuno Mendes, João Daniel, Gonçalo Batalha, Tiago Ferreira, Daniel Rodrigues, Joelson Fernandes (already training with the senior team at 16 years old), Tiago Tomás and Nicolai Skoglund.

Gonzalo Plata (not really an academy product but part of the U-23 team after joining us in January) was named man of the match after scoring the solitary goal in the U-20 World Cup for Ecuador vs. Mexico. Hopefully he can join the team in pre-season and show all his quality.

Plata with another goal at the U-20 World Cup, this time a penalty. He's been the brightest star so far of a talented Ecuador team.

Plata finished the tournament as 3rd best player. We have a talent here...hopefully if we sell Bruno Fernandes we go and buy the remaining 50% of his rights.

The academy of Alcochete celebrates its 17th anniversary today. Lets hope that it can recuperate some of its past glory. Now more than ever its important to scout talent since clubs are paying ridiculous amounts for unproven talent. Varandas said he was going to invest 12M euros until 2022 to upgrade and reinvent our academy back to world class specs.

The academy is getting a much needed refit with a new training pitch which hasn't been changed in 17 years.

Eduardo Quaresma looks a hell of a player, anyone watched him closely on here

He's part of the pre-season squad and rumoured to be in the running to stay in the squad as 4th centre back. Would be impressive if he beat Ilori and Ivanildo to the 4th spot. Although maybe a loan would be more beneficial.

According to his father who gave an interview in Portugal, the new teenage sensation in Barcelona, Ansu Fati, before signing a professional contract for barca, was close to joining Sporting.

But they didn't accept because we only promised him to play in the youth team and Barça promised to play him in B team with a chance to feature in the A squad... and now he's starting for Barça and probably going to become a star...

Yea I'm taking all of that with a grain of salt. A promise means nothing. A player's performance dictates where they land. Besides, he can be a beast on our youth team and get called up to the senior immediately, so it all depends on performance. Besides, Barcelonas B Team is their youth team.

If the player wanted to go to Barcelona to begin with, or Barcelona came with a counter offer then he's obviously going there. All this story is is Abola and the rest of Portuguese media's attempt to shit on SCP. They post an article the same day saying that Benfica will help him get Portuguese citizenship. So ridiculous.

One more thing. Fati has been in Barcelona's youth since 2012. So 7 years on the youth team before getting a call up. He also spent most of his life in Spain.

Pedro Mendes has been absolutely ripping it up. Awesome free kick today.

Yeah lets hope in January we include him in the squad.

I wonder if he can play in the cups at least?

Looks like the B team is coming back next season. Just don't know which division they will start in. Last time we opened the B team the 1st and 2nd divisions were expanded but not sure that will happen this time.

Sporting signed a professional contract with 16 year old forward Youssef Chermiti. The young forward, who has both Portugal and Tunisia citizenship, is touted as a hot prospect. He's already been capped 17 times for the U15 and U16 Portugal national teams.

8 Sporting players were called up to the U-21 Portugal national team, it's been a long time since we've seen so many of our players called up. Most notably Joelson at only 17 is getting called up for the U-21's.

    GK: Maximiano
    Defenders: Eduardo Quaresma, Nuno Mendes
Midfielders: Daniel Bragança, Miguel Luis, Pedro Gonçalves (Pote)
    Forwards: Pedro Mendes, Joelson.
