just had an municipal elections in Norway. Not easy to say what way this country is going Labour Party got 24,8% National. A very low low number for Labour . Right was right behind with 20,1 % I would say the winners of the the election would be MDG( Environment party the green) , The center party and FNB ( Folks against car toll) https://www.nrk.no/valg/2019/resultat/nb

In Scandinavia we celebrate jul , Jòl or Jólablót . Some may wonder why we do not call it something connecting to Jesus , Christ or mas . This is due to our history from the Viking age where we celebrated jul , Jòl or Jólablót the 12`th of January . This was a celebration of the midwinter and the turning towards more light due to the dark winters in the north . After Christianity was forced upon the "pagans" , they managed to save some of their believes , traditions and values. -We go in a torchlight before lighting a Yule tree -new years resolution -setting out porridge to Santa (offering) -Gifts -Yule-three -Yule goat Later departing from its pagan roots, Yule underwent Christianised reformulation, resulting in the term Christmastide. Many present-day Christmas customs and traditions such as the Yule log, Yule goat, Yule boar, Yule singing, and others stem from pagan Yule traditions. Terms with an etymological equivalent to Yule are still used in Nordic countries and Estonia to describe Christmas and other festivals occurring during the winter holiday season. Are Scandinavians going back to the old ways ? My impression is that Scandinavians in general are starting to stand up for what they believe in and taking their own path and looking back to nature. Latest today I meet a guy on the outdoor ice rink . He told me he was taking his kids out for a night or two out in the woods . No phones, iPads ,tv , computer or Playstation . Just them, the silence , the cold and the long log fire .
