#MNUFC’s Mason Toye and Hassani Dotson have been called up to U23 National Team for a match against Japan on September 9th. https://t.co/USRYzGBIqK— Northland Soccer Journal (@NorthlandSoccer) August 30, 2019 Nice!
Fire trade $50K in 2020 GAM and a 2020 4th round pick to Minnesota for $50K in 2019 GAM #cf97— Guillermo Rivera (@FireConf) September 3, 2019
So, wait. Chicago...who is hanging by their fingernails onto playoff hopes...trade 2020 money AND a draft pick for 50K they have to use (I assume that's what 2019 GAM means) by the end of the season. What, they think they're gonna pick up Neymar on a free?

Here’s #MNUFC striker @MasonToye98 goal yesterday. A fantastic through ball from Aaronson and a great use of space from Toye. https://t.co/4Cbg0EEp9N— Jacob Schneider (@_jacobschneider) September 10, 2019

News: #MNUFC defender Brent Kallman hit with 10-game suspension for consuming banned substance. Details on suspension that will impact #Loons back line amid playoff push. "I feel like I really let the team down," Kallman said.https://t.co/hGZncr8hzE— Andy Greder (@andygreder) September 19, 2019 *double take. Smooth move, Brent.
His apology. See this Instagram photo by @brentmkallman14 https://www.instagram.com/p/B2mWnWkHqPt/?utm_source=ig_web_button_native_share
So, instead of following the advice of the training staff, who would know what stuff was ok and what was not... ...at least they darn well better know... Kallman goes out on his own and gets caught. As my father would say... D-U-M...dum. Double dum.
The latest MLSPA salaries just dropped. #MNUFC’s new players...Wilfried Moimbé-Tahrat: $274,275Thomás Chacón: $337,000Robin Lod: $952,496(!!!!!!), more than Jan Gregus and, well, anybody but Darwin Quintero. pic.twitter.com/6NgMu8ua5W— Jeff Rueter (@jeffrueter) September 27, 2019
After the game, I asked #MNUFC goalkeeper Vito Mannone if he had an update on his status for 2020. Unfortunately, I think we are stuck with Lod (and Heath). Otherwise, who is probably gone? 1) Ibarra 2) Manley 3) Danladi 4) Schuller 5) Romario 6) I can see them not picking up Darwin's extension.....and spending a bit more to get a more reliable DP. 7) Olum 8) Angelo R. 9) Maybe Moimbe I can see either Finlay or Molino gone as well.
News: #MNUFC rewarded center back Michael Boxall during the summer with a new contract that includes multiple guaranteed years, a source confirmed to the @PioneerPress. (First to report: @jeffrueter)— Andy Greder (@andygreder) October 21, 2019
VITO!!!!!!! (Now, sign him) .@mnufc’s @VitoMannone88 wins Goalkeeper of Year in a tight race over Bill Hamid and Sean Johnson pic.twitter.com/rXVDmBBvm0— Jerry Zgoda (@JerryZgoda) October 24, 2019
I may be wrong, but I think it's more a case of paying Reading FC than Vito, right? Reading owns Vito's contract and loaned him to MNUFC until 1-30-2020. They have two 28-29 year old keepers they like, so Vito was expendable to them, but now, they'll probably want to shop him around and see if anyone is impressed enough by him MNUFC season to pay them more than MNUFC has to offer.
I think we all want him back, especially as he and the back line worked pretty well this year. I think the issue becomes salary (currently $594,000 guaranteed, IIRC) and if MNUFC need to find space under the salary cap to acquire another position. I haven't seen enough of St. Clair, but I would imagine he is still rough around the edges. It would be nice to have Vito at least one more year...though he may be seeking multi year deal.
Your @MNUFC announces this afternoon that it has declined contract options on Rasmus Schuller, Collin Martin, Carter Manley, Wilfried Moimbé-Tahrat and Ally Hamis Ng’anzi. Schuller signed with the team before its inaugural 2017 season & started 11 of 15 games early in season.— Jerry Zgoda (@JerryZgoda) October 25, 2019
Can't say I'm surprised about Schuller, Manley, Martin, or Ng'anzi - but there was some fanfare about Moimbe-Tahrat signing. Very odd to bring someone in mid-season like that and then cut him loose (even given that Gaspar has a hold on left back)
