First decent team we have played and we get absolutely trashed. The tactics and formation employed by ZZ were a ********ing joke. Once again. Midfield absolutely outnumbered and outrun. Absolutely Basic stuff.

If Mbappe, Neymar and Cavani played this match, we would have conceded 6 or 7 goals.

Team is completely disorganized. There is no tactics. Zidane has to go. Please.

7 goals conceded in last 3 matches.

Zidane is an intelligent guy and supposedly has courage. He needs to be brave enough to make changes. We probably have a lot of solutions already in the squad at the moment. I think he needs to make changes and give other guys an extensive run in the team....try different combinations:

    - Ramos/Militao....give that a good run
    - Odrio/Nacho at right back ...
    - Valverde instead of Kroos for a few games
    - Mendy as a starter for a while...
    - Can Marcelo play a different role in midfield?

I still think we have enough offensive firepower....but he needs to try different things in the middle and at the back.

The 433 with the usual guys just can't go on unchallenged.

    Playing devil's advocate

    No Modric
    No Ramos
    No Isco
    No Valverde
    No Asensio
    No Marcelo

Which even with people's misgivings on certain players means our options tactically are extremely limited.

Hazard returning for his first game looks exactly like a player who hasn't really played with these players before.

In saying all this I think it's another year of much the same.

Even if we get a new manager you can't change these players who look extremely disinterested. And I still think Hazard won't help us at all.

    True.

They couldn't take the Zidane criticism. Boohoo.

Now a couple more matches to go and most here will be calling for his head. I guess it's easy then.

Anyone with basic cognitive and analytical skills could see the way this would go with Zidane's pseudo revolution. He's a horrible tactical manager and can't build a new team.

I think come January, he will leave.

Modric and Isco would have been solved by having Eriksen and VdB. Zidane said no.

I agree with more limited options the past two games due to injuries..that's undeniable. ZZ is still guilty for tolerating a lack of intensity on his team. That's just unforgivable for me at this level. If you're not motivated to "kill" yourself of the field....this isn't the right jersey for you.

That being said....I think any talk of firing our coach now is very silly.

zidane’s record since he took over again is looking pretty bad at the moment. This season is W2- D-2 L-1 : 8 points out of 15 possible.

This is not a problem with the players. This is a problem with the manager.

I still can't believe he waited till the 70th minute to make a change and realise that the midfield was outnumbered with his stupid formation.

Kroos and Casemiro were getting killed with no one to pass to. Shambles

that would enough to sack Zidane - to save our season and kick the ass of players we need a strong coach the team would turn good by 50%

while i agree that some of the guys need to hit the bench our problem tonight was much deeper than simply personnel, we looked like Argentina out there, no one seems to have any clue what to do.

Our shape was wrong both on and off the ball. mostly on it though. Our press was laughable, PSG were playing through it as if it were a training session, i dont know how Zidane and his staff haven't been able to see how disjointed we are when we press other teams so much so that it becomes counter productive, because once its beaten we're opened.

its also interesting that our last 5 losses in the CL all happened with Ramos off the pitch, going to be very hard to replace him.

the problem is the players with this coach.
Zidane don't have any experience sorting out defensive duties and it seems nobody else in his cadre of assistant coaches knows either.
Zidane have no brains to try anything beside his 433 and he has no balls changing it.
as for TC, I've defended him in the past, but he is just awful.

watch Marcelo starting on the next La Liga game if he's fit.

its not like we won't pass the group stage, we will, but someone in the 1/8 will kick us out.

Clearly the issue is nobody marking the opposition's corner flags in this lineup. :ninja:If the rumors are true and we weren't interested in Neymar because of the bad influence he'd have on JR and Rodrygo, what sort of bad influence are the starters having by doing virtually nothing and collecting big salaries.

Nobody blocked you for being critical of Zidane. It’s the way you do it. You’re usually wildly disrespectful.

If Zizou doesn’t last the year, he can still go home a club legend and that deserves a level of decency you don’t typically show

    Probably due to match fitness.

It’s funny isn’t it... it felt not too long ago that the lack of world class attacking talent would be our undoing.

All it takes is about 5 minutes of watching Hazard and James to know that’s no longer our main issue.

Real Madrid is indeed nothing without Cristiano Ronaldo. No matter how hard you try we'll never be the side we used to be once with the GOAT on our side

I'll going to be really honest here. If you lose 3 goals to a non-optimal PSG team in CL, this team will never be able to make it. Even losing goals to a fully fit PSG team means you are light weight.

There is nothing going for the current Real Madrid. I fear another long winter like 2003.

Courtois has been terrible and was never the same since he left Atletico Madrid but part of me thinks the only reason why he looked good back then was he had prime Cholo’s defense in front of him who sat back defensively most of the time.

There was a clear regression during his Chelsea stint and cost them the game against Barcelona when they were on 1 goal lead and had their bus tactic right until he opened his legs TWICE for Messi and Dembele.

Navas on the other hand was never on decline and still performed at top level. Many elite goalkeepers (Buffon, Neuer, Cech, Kahn etc) performed at top level in their mid to late 30s, it made absolte no sense replacing Navas to this garbage.
