I read the news today, oh boy! Hallelujah! It's gonna take awhile for Joe to get us back to the top, but I believe he will. First step done. Huge!
This is MLS. You can easily go from the bottom to the top. Step #1 Buy out Andi (Check) Step #2 FIRE NRod Step #3 FIRE Pauno Step #4 FIRE all of NRod's hires Step #5 FIRE all of Pauno's hires Step #6 Hire our next GM as soon as possible, so we could start rebuilding our FO Step #7 GM hires new coach, so the coach could start filling out his coach staff. Step #8 See if he could use his pull about getting a SSS built in the city.
"I'm Chevy Chase and you're not. Our top story tonight: Generalissimo Andrewo Hauptman is still out."
https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...wner-joe-mansueto-dominant-win-over-fc-dallas Looks like Joe has been in the locker room before and after games. I wonder how many times Andi done this?
Actually from what I know, he's done that plenty. My thing with Hauptman at this point is just that he consistently made the wrong decision. Not that he intentionally did anything to hurt the club, just that he always made the wrong choices because he never knew any better and he never surrounded himself with people who did know better. Early on he meddled too much with the club, then at some point decided o switch gears and let others take care of things. He consistently made wrong choices and trusted the wrong people. Am I saying it was all bad luck? No, he could've done so much better if he had truly put in work to figure out which were the right decisions to make. But there's a point where things just consistently went sideways because they just did. He's gone now and we have a new local billionaire owner. Let's hope he can make the right decisions that Hauptman could never make.
Section 8 should have a perpetual honorary seat prominently dedicated to a cutout of the kid from Thunderpants. Same seat, every game. Andrews monument. Holy Shit. Its a pre-Weasley Rupert Grint. I had no idea. He seems just the sort to get in on the joke if prodded.
I read your post as: "Blah blah blah...HE'S GONE NOW!!!...blah blah blah something something..." FIST PUMP!
No, he’s a narcissist that surrounded himself with people that made him feel both important and like the most intelligent person in the room. This is disastrous, and our ineffectiveness over time shows how damaging that was.
Cakes was stoned on his own farts. He never had a chance. Now he can sit in an elevator and mumble to himself incoherently in peace.
Well yeah. That's a part of the bad decision-making. He refused to learn from mistakes and continued to look for people who would kiss his ass. My point is less that he didn't do anything wrong, it's more that he didn't intentionally tear everything apart simply to strip assets. It's just what happens when you don't put in the right work to improve.
He did strip assets to the extent that he could. The budgets were constrained. Long term employees were fired and low level cheap, new hires were brought in to replace them. Experience was removed in favor of low starting salaries. Meaningful headcount was lost. We know GAM/TAM was stockpiled instead of cash being invested. Dare I even mention the USL debacle over the years? It was a mess.
You monster, I was trying to forget that this ever happened! It was all just a bad dream, it was all just a bad dream, it was all just a bad dream...
...About a lucky team who made a change And while the news made me so glad Well, I just had to sigh wasted Blanco and Schwein they played for teams not going far they didn't notice Andy was deranged the crowd of people shrank and shrank They'd seen good play before None of them were really sure if they should attend anymore
Still in the Red Stars afterglow. The first home playoff win at Toyota Park/Seat Geek in 10 years. Playin for the cup Sunday against the evil empire.
