New MRL rule - a player can only be subbed once per half. In our 3rd game we went down to 10 players as a result of that rule and injuries.
I thought that had been the rule for a few years; at least in the first half. Players hand in their player card when they enter the game.
Sockers HS D1 (PA2) vs. BVB Int(naperville) was best match of the morning! 0-0 until late, Sockers broke it open with PK and it went 3-0 in the end. BVB has a good group of U16's, will be interesting to watch when they play our u16 DA... who look like they should be playing piano or violin until the whistle blows... Beasts! My son is in this training pool. Can't imagine boys wanting to play HS ball...
We were swapping cards with the ref this weekend in Iowa - first time we as parents noticed. No one we played - nor us, followed such a rule last season so maybe it was delayed.
Last time I was involved in an MRL games was like 5 years ago. I do not think there is a sub restriction for u13/14 but always has been for u15 and up
I meant to say that the cars swapping/sub restrictions were in place back then so it is not a new rule.
question to the group regarding "part time" ? DA players can they play seasons with their regular teams? high school ? is there any restriction on how many minutes they get to play ? and can a whole team play "part time" DA ?
Part-Time Players Clubs may add up to an average of 10 Part-Time (PT) Players, averaged across all club’s age groups (U-13 through U-18/19), which will count against roster totals, according to the Part Time Player Policy. The 2019- 2020 policy is available at http://www.ussoccerda.com/administrative_resources. A Part-time Player (PT) is a player who is rostered with a DA Club or their affiliate Club that is not ready to contribute at the Academy level full time. This player is not playing consistently and/or enough minutes in DA games to fully develop; therefore, the player is eligible to play games outside of the DA program. The PT player consistently trains 3-4 times a week (depending on their age group) and must train with both teams every week. The PT player is required to train a minimum of 1x every week with the DA team, in addition to their non-DA team. For example, the player trains 1-2x every week with the DA team and 1-2x every week with the non-DA team. PT players can play in a maximum of 12 DA games. Note, at U-13 and U-14 age groups, any PT player added to the game day roster will count as a game played. To supplement their Academy game minutes, the PT player is eligible to also play games outside the DA on a non-DA team within the club or in an affiliate club as part of his/her individual development plan. PT players must still follow the Academy play-to-rest ratio. PT players may not be registered PT with any two different Academy clubs at the same time during the same Academy season (Sept-July). PT players may only change their status to full-time once during the Academy season and they may not return to PT player status. Furthermore, a PT player does not automatically garner full-time status after participating in their twelfth game. The club must submit their intentions in writing to the Academy Office to move the player to full-time status. Players that have played in the maximum twelve (12) games, are not eligible to continue to play in Academy games, unless the club indicates the desire to move the player to full-time status and the player status has been updated to full-time by the Academy Central Office.
I thought injuries allowed you to bring someone back. And I was wrong, Just an temporary exception for a head injury examination.,
2007 Girls MRL qualifier starting to get down to business. From the scores, it seems like each bracket has some top teams and some total dogs. It would be nice if scores would get updated more often.
We had a badly bruised back, sprained bones and one player shattered her fibula and tibia - she was whisked off by an ambulance. Tough weekend indeed!
First matchups of OB and NB seemed to be all OB. NK was coaching u14 OB. It was pretty funny as he kept yelling at his girls to play forward or just clear it up the field while they were successfully playing out of pressure from the back.

He wanted to play it forward so one particular player would score. He has done this in several games now.
2004s and 2006s played Tuesday night. Oak Brook won both. 4-1 at 2004, and 3-1 at 2006. All of the other ages play tonight.
Like in Kicking and Screaming? "Give it to the Italians!" Seems like a productive way to develop the players and team. LOL
It would be nice if these games were updated within 48 hours. What's the point of standings if they aren't updated.
I have heard that NK brought 18 players and only made 3 subs for the 06 game. Money well spent. Problem is this has been the Eclipse way for a few years now.
Any specific reason for that? Did it happen? Both goals I saw in the few minutes I was there were from long range shots.
As a coach, this was always a pet peeve of mine. Now that I ref, I always post the score before I get in my car.

Sounds like a former coach I know. Literally yelling to his favorite player what to exactly do to score a go. Wait Wait Wait MAKE THE RUN NOW!! PASS THE BALL TO XXXXX.
