Drove past Mapfre this eve. All lit up with the scoreboard on but couldn’t tell what was on it. Apparently there’s a lacrosse tournament this weekend. Huh.
I did hear something yesterday that got me a little excited. Let's say some guy who works sound for the Crew saw the new stadium design/renders/etc. He was so excited, he was literally vibrating. This is what I hear.
Opening weekend of the playoffs for the Premier Lacrosse League. A touring league that siphoned off most of the stars from Major League Lacrosse (the league the Machine were in).
Stadium literotica, love it. Like a great book turned into an epic show, Game of Thrones level my friends.
Just talked with my waitress at Applebees. She said to be careful with these renderings as it might be a canary trap. The FO leaked multiple copies of the stadium rendering, each with differences. This way they can track who is leaking the info. She said it's called the @GoCrew1996 rule or something like that.
Hardly. It's funny, but I have a hard time seeing what will be in this design that'll make it that much different or more impressive than other MLS stadiums in this price range (other than it'll be ours). Once the total cost crawled into the $240M range, I sort of assumed it would be a terrific stadium. I hope I completely change my tune when I do see it, but I am curious just what our place will have that other $200+M stadiums don't.
I haven't seen it yet either, and - to be honest - though I'm hyped for stadium pron, I honestly couldn't care less. I trust that a third grader isn't designing it and therefor it's going to be better than Mapfre in every facet and that's all that matters to me. I honestly have no concerns other than if I'll need a second mortgage for a seat license.
Yeah, I'm of this opinion as well. I'll take what we get when we get it, but I trust that the people in charge know more about designing a stadium then I do. As much as I want our stadium to be different from the AD.. If we can upgrade as much as the Clippers did and put as much thought into the new stadium as they did, we're in good shape and I'll be happy.
I have low expectations. I just want things to not get a lot worse. I want seats that fit a 250 pound man, with sight lines comparable to the third row of the upper deck maybe 8 yards off midfield, without the sun in my eyes, and parking half a mile from my seats, all for not too much more than twice what I pay now. And I don't really expect to get all that.
For those in the know, should I be in a private stall when the renderings are released? Any candle recommends?
I know we have a lot of Star Trek fans here, but this is...interesting: Don Garber says the new Columbus stadium "looks like something from a Star Wars movie"— Bob Williams (@WilliamsBob75) September 10, 2019
