He does everything wrong that Varane does currently. Don't think he'd be much of a great choice for us. Pepe has shown that I order to succeed in the position in Madrid, footspeed is key. Varane was also crucial while he was outpacing everybody. De Ligt is the exact opposite.
Time to strongly consider selling Varane and move on from this midfield too. We need a proper renovation at this point.
Perhaps the fact that he knows he has no competition for his starting spot has made him complacent. Imo, he was at his best when he was competing with Pepe.
September month would decide the Zizou future, - hope we start this month with a positive note and win over Sevilla , Atletico and PSG

I say with the current squad, we don't have the personnel for a 433 We have regressed a lot We downgraded keeper Carvajal, varane, and marcelo regressed Modric is older, kroos doesn't give a damn anymore Hazard is a downgrade from Cristiano No wonder we are terrible. Only Benzema has improved from our 2017 squad. I think we need a 442. Midfield of 4 to provide balance. I'd start Modric, Casemiro, James, and Isco. Rotate the front 2 between benz, hazard, jovic,and bale.
We played worse in this game than our last CL Game against Ajax and we also had a better squad today .. that day we had Nacho instead of Militao, Vini instead of Hazard and LucasV instead of Bale. Zidane had months to work with this team nd here are the results.. terrible. I really hope he is able to turn things around.
The team is so bad that I'm starting to have the outrageous thought that perhaps ZZ is trying to throw the season in order to get Flo to spring for Pogba next year. Because if its not that then the other alternative is that ZZ really has no clue what he is doing.
