Or at least get him to resign?

Why do we continue to accept failure after failure from this federation? If this were any other US sport, fans and the media would have already been calling for his head.

You could buy Man City, fire Pep, and offer his job to Berhalter. That should be enough to get him to step down.

I like how the board has shifted over the last decade to being conservative on firing coaches to not taking bs.
Egg's credibility as the USMNT coach should absolutely be under question.

We'll probably have to wait until the early stages of qualifying, if indeed then.

Berhalter won't be fired unless we fail to qualify for Qatar, and the system has now been so rigged that it would take failure beyond legendary proportions [beyond the Couva level] to have that unfold. So Commissar Jay has done a solid gold for his bro, General Egg.

Not a chance. 1st opportunity will be not qualifying for the World Cup.

I am shuddering at the thought of GB insisting on playing his system on a pot holed cricket field, the day after a monsoon......this shit is going to be hilarious

Big Soccer before a friendly: Call in young and new players, experiement, it's just a friendly!

Big Soccer after a loss: FIRE BERHALTER!

A 3-0 loss sucks, but the goals the goals came largely from playing our younger guys - Dest, McKennie, etc.

A coach tries to call in youngsters, and willing to do experiment in friendlies, then you have no reason to get him fired? Just this? WTF? Then I can be a qualified usmnt coach.

When Weston sloppily played a ball back, that wasn’t the system. That was a lack of focus.

Was it surprising that we gave up goals on individual failures from young players?

Mexico is more talented than us right now and much more experienced.

This wasn’t a good result, but the reactions are just dumb.

The truth is worse: it was both.

You think Tata Martino is dumb? Most people would disagree with you.

this time it behooves leadership to set a deadline on performance. Last time around Sunil waited until after the second game of the hex.

What should be the deadline this cycle? I'm not sure.

    That’s probably true.

I’m not sure how you leaped to me saying Tata is dumb, though. Do you have a link where Tata calls for Berhalter to be fired?

weve seen him play incredibly bad balls back into the box rather than turning upfield at least 3 times from the pre-gc friendlies til now.

ive never seen anything CLOSE to that with shalke.

its 100% the system/berhalters instructions to play all the way back to steffen to begin attacks. he literally tells us that.

there has never been a us team more talented than mexico individually, yet we owned their ass for a decade (and held our own for a few years either side of that). telling me a pool with steffen, yedlin, brooks, adams, mckennie and pulisic- without even getting to guys not even at the ripe old age of 20 like dest, weah, sargent etc...or "role players"/depth such as horvath, cannon, miazga, long...saying we dont have enough talent is insane.

its some nostalgia-tinted dementia to say we had a better pool with far less top end and mostly wolffs, edus and and sorbers...es.

the ONLY thing this team lacks is experience (being THIS talented THIS young) and even vaguely competent management, which has been rapidly declining for us over the last decade and a half.

filling in a standard 4-4-2 with a computer program full of soccer stats would produce a better team than our last 3 (actual) managers all trying to prove theyre the most progressive genuises in the remedial kindergarten class that is american soccer managers.

how can i say that? cause its basically what sarachan did, a lifetime assistant to american managers who were themselves pretty far behind the level our player pool has risen to.

How does that connect to Tata?

Sarachan ran out a lineup game after game which could get a 0-0 result. That's not good enough.

Tata said that Mexico played the game it wanted to play and the game Egg wants to play takes time.
