The Bielsa-bub era continues. Leeds start the season with a win at Bristol. Also it's Leeds United's centenary season. 100 years of this nonsense.
Bamford's finishing cost Leeds three points on Saturday. Do you agree? Interesting tactical analysis below. https://footballbh.net/2019/08/12/e...-nottingham-forest-tactical-analysis-tactics/
I only saw a brief highlight of the match but reports I've read did come down hard on Bamford. He also failed to clear leading to the equalizer.
Leeds up 2-0 against Cardiff atm.. If results stay firm, Leeds will be atop the table by 13 points from 3rd place... Seems as Leeds are hitting their stride right now. It's happening lads!
And true to Leeds PHUCKING FORM, Leeds bottle a 3-0 lead and end up drawing Cardiff at home 3-3... FFS Leeds drops to 2nd and the gap between Automatic promotion and play-off remains 10 points.
Should've kept on Bamford.. Also not sure why he took out Gaetano. They went right at his sub thereafter.
Welp.. 2-1 loss at Craven Cottage, didn't help that the ref was a total tw@t. That was never a penalty in any part of planet earth, but alas.. what else should I expect from these EFL refs. Hernandez out for a month with a muscular injury.. was subbed out early against Fulham.. Bielsa is running the 33 yr old magician thru the wringer. On the upside, Tyler Roberts and Jamie Shackleton are available for Boxing day against Preston.
1-1 draw at Elland Road against PNE. Stuart Dallas with the equalizer at the end of regulation time to nick a point away from Preston. Terrible performance in the first saw PNE take the lead on a nicely orchestrated counter. Second half saw Leeds dominate much more with the opposing keeper making some sublime saves against both Nketiah and Alioski. Christmas time has never been fond of Leeds United.
That was a crazy game today. Leeds have shipped 10 goals in 4 games. Might be time for Bielsa to go shopping for a new keeper.
new keeper and maybe some new defenders aswell! Ayling and Alioski were invisible tonight, Cooper and Ben White spent physically on set-pieces. Reckon we loan in some new players for January.
On a sidenote.. we sorely missed Bamford's hold-up play today. Eddie had his moments, but he wasn't nearly as active as Bamford. Only up from here for the young lad.
just watched Birmingham- Leeds 4-5 highlights. what a dramatic match to watch. amazing win for Leeds. an exciting atmosphere inside the stadium, it was even much better than most of the EPL games tbh. congrats!
Eddie Nketiah expected to be recalled by Arsenal in the next 48 hours. Well if it wasn't obvious enough, it should be now. Leeds needs a new striker by next week.
Game ends tied 1-1. WBA with an early fluky set piece goal from Ajayi off a corner. Leeds since then dominated bulk of the match subbing out Eddie for Bamford at half with Patty finding the back of the net off a header that deflected off Ajayi and into the goal to increase Bamford's goal tally to 11 on the season. Leeds still top of the league on Goal differential. Next game up, a trip to the Emirates.
Bielsa announces four changes to his starting line-up for their cup clash on Monday against Arsenal. The young frenchman, Illan Meslier, will make his Leeds debut in place of Kiko, under the nets, while Alioski will replace Helder Costa at right wing, Barry Douglas will slot back into leftback after his performance at West Brom. Robbie Gotts will also make his debut for Leeds taking over for Stuart Dallas in mid, while Gaetano will slot into the starting eleven for captain, Liam Cooper. GK: Meslier DEF: Ayling, White, Berardi, Douglas Holding mid: Kalvin Mids: Alioski, Klich, Gotts, Harrison FWD: Bamford
Leeds with a proper crack at a prem side tonight. Unfortunately Bielsa's men fell short at Emirates after a sloppy finish from.Reiss-Nelson in the early parts of the second half. A tale of two halves really, first half Leeds came out absolutely swinging, second half the Leeds we all have come to know and love showed up.. Jordan Steven and Ilan Meslier with strong debuts along with Robbie Gotts. Guess now The Whites can focus solely on promotion. MOT!
Bielsa announced today at his press conference that Shackleton n Hernandez are available for this weekend against the Owls. Also he didn't offer up much in-regards to the Che Adams speculation, citing he doesn't comment much on things that aren't a guarantee.(paraphrasing)
