I didn’t realize that Lutz Pfannenstiel, the goalkeeper who played on all 7 continents, is a director of Fortuna Duesseldorf now.
Yeah but Steffen has had some good saves and not a fault of any of the goals. Morales has been fun to watch as haven't seen him misplay a pass all day and has dispossessed and won the ball several times.
I feel like this was my impression pretty much every time I watched them last season. I guess they had that good run after winter break where they won some games, but I didn't see any of those. And really last week against Werder Bremen, they were outplayed too, but had some clinical finishing and good saves from Steffen to bail them out. I wouldn't be surprised to see them right in the middle of the relegation battle this season. That's not necessarily a bad thing for Steffen, as he'll get lots of work; he just has to avoid the Guzan shell shock effect where it seems like he was ruined by playing behind that horrible Villa team for too long.
Yeah, that's a shame what brought down Guzan. A quality keeper for a few seasons and then relegated with AV and then relegated the following season with Middlesbrough as their no.2
Watched this game. Steffen was fine, nothing outstanding, no mistakes. Leverkusen is just too much for Dusseldorf.

According to Google, E. Frankfurt had 8 shots on target. https://www.google.com/search?clien...res#sie=m;/g/11h4cy_ynl;2;/m/037169;dt;fp;1;;
Steffen had one shaky moment trying to play out of the back that was almost identical to the first goal he gave up against Venezuela in our USMNT friendly earlier this year. This time the defense/ref bailed him out. He's going to have to work on that going forward. Otherwise, I thought he looked fine and wasn't at fault on either of the goals against.
