We actually play a team below us...

Not only below us, but in a free fall. Can't see Arnaud getting the Houston coaching job on a permanent basis but hopefully he can get the Dynamo playing well enough (after Saturday) to help Sporting out against the rest of the West.

Good first half though we need more insurance goals. Hoping for a loss or tie by Portland.

Serviceable, but not scintillating performance. Take the 3 points and move on. If one play capsulizes Daniel’s play this year it was his point blank miss sliding in on goal in the first half. Oh my! Is there is one time the team needs a goal from him it will be next week. No yellow card for Roger so we have a decent midfield for Portland.

been a problem all season - we just almost never dominate games. at vancouver, vs. montreal and vs chicago are the only three that felt like a safe win. sometimes it's gonna be barely enough as in the last three games, other times it won't, and that's just not good enough for the playoffs, at least in the west. Kinda sad to see that we are 5 points and a game behind, but would only be 1 point behind in the east.

What's up with Ilie? Is he getting a lot of time to come back from injury or is he somehow in the Vermes doghouse too?

Well, with the win, Nate Silver’s 538 has Sporting dropping from 19% to 15% to make the playoffs. The next lowest Western Conference playoff contender, Dallas, is at 64%. Team will need at least 4 points from this road trip to have a real chance.
