Completely agree, my view from day one, power which would include intelligence in that meaning, but tricky to deal with seeing as our coach thinks we already have the best 9 in the world, and he calls the shots. It’s always annoying to watch us reach the opposition box and then look completely clueless as to how to go any further except out wide and cross

I would love to see Benz in a creator role. A free role where he can roam around. But we do need another presence in the box then.

It’s unfortunately because we are prone to careless defensive lapses and vulnerable on the counter even against small teams.

In most cases we actually cannot win without Casemiro.

All our attackers have to pitch in as far as goalscoring is concerned if we are to be successful, all of them, I understand the need for a goalscoring midfielder but all of Hazard , Benz, Gareth, Lucas yes Lucas V, Vin, James, Jovic and Rodrygo if they get a chance, should all be scoring goals for us on a more consistent basis to begin with, the downside to that scenario, is we expected the same last season and it absolutely did not materialize , but if they are no more additions to this squad, before we even think about goals from midfield all these guys should be contributing when given a chance and not just 3 or 4 goals for the season either.

If that’s the case then Jovic should get a chance to start, IMO that’s exactly what he already does, that’s the problem with Benz, he wants to do the same thing an Isco or James could do but still be the 9, clogs up one part of the pitch, leaves a hole in another part and opposing CB’s get to relax and wait, no real pressure while we dilly dally at the edge of the box with the ball, no real cutting edge

It's very clear but for some reason we've yet to address it

I've been out of the loop for a few weeks. Why didn't we sign Pogba? And are we realistically in for Neymar?

    Honest question.

Perhaps it was a blessing to be forced away from following all this.

Imagine all the road blocks we would encounter trying to sign this guy.

Wonder how Barcelona is gonna pull this one off.

At least we would have made an effort.

That's what is infuriating about this summer and previous ones. Even in this summer where we had to spend crazy we still didn't spend or do enough.... just like the previous summers.

We end up standing firm and awaiting. Stop that shit, get some balls and take gambles to make shit happen. Shit.

    We dont want Neymar (literally).

Headcase with injury problem is not on the checklist and if it were Bale fits the bill.

At this point we just need to hope Barca doesn't get Neymar. Not that I care about him in their squad, but if were not getting him his departure shouldn't minimize our chances at Mbappe.

    Woof. This blows

Perez will never have a football director because that person will go against almost any decision Perez is making. He can only have "yes men" in his organization.
two summers in a row that Perez have completely lost the people.
his biggest mistake is to think that proven players are still looking at Real Madrid (or any other club for that matter) with an admiration for the past success and club history and are just lining up to sign for our club.
its all about money and agents. Perez just doesn't know how to play that game. Time for a change.

Benzema is proven to be a goalscoring threat inside the box lol.

However, the fullbacks from Real Madrid sucks at crossing nowadays.

Bale is the only good crosser in RM-squad as of right now.

Which is waste because himself would be needed in the box.

It has honestly been a wild roller coaster. I wish the club had just denied the whole Neymar rumors from the start, now I feel so disgusted. I can't stomach him going back to Barca, and while it by no means guarantees them anything, I'm just really more concerned about my team and what the overall plan is.

We started the summer well, but it's quite shocking to me that nothing has been done to address the midfield. I'm not really too concerned about the sale of Llorente, nor the loaned players (those players weren't ready to contribute this season and now they can at least be solutions for the future), but my lord, everyone knew we needed AT LEAST one starting midfielder. We have gotten none. Neymar would have been a game breaker that would have masked over the midfield, but we haven't even shown any real interest.

Maybe the prices are crazy, and maybe it's time to accept we truly can't compete in this market anymore. Barca keeps doing it, I don't know how, and kudos to them if they can maintain this long term.

This. I'm not upset with what the club has done this summer, aside from not adding a world class midfielder to start pushing Modric/Kroos out of a guaranted starting spot. I'm astounded we haven't done so. Otherwise I'm actually excited.

Odegaard is looking good for our midfield next year. We also have Ceballos and Oscar too. People seem to have forgotten how good Oscar was last season as well.

So buying someone in that vein might not be the best idea, even if it means another year in which we may struggle.

I'd love Roca but without selling someone I'd be surprised if we make any more changes.

I guess that Neymar will go to the other treat and we are not in the picture anymore, it was so clear for me from the beginning I am so sorry, I am piss that it was a bad game that Flo fell into, he move some EU player for that and thought that this guy isn't playing with us
I think that our Window is closed and this is our squad, I think we should brought another player in the MC ..

if we are competing if this team without any additions than fate would be the same as last year ...

rather than concentrating on the neymar we should need to get someone in midfield, Pogba may be good addition but we did not move on to the other players when we was not available,

our the tactical approach is very rigid - like single medicine for all diseases which is very unlikely to succeed

I've a feeling that Flo won't let us down.
We will get one more player before the window closes!

I hope he's not saving cash for summer 2020, as elections are due May 2021!
