Somewhat fair. I will say though that Barcelona’s lone goal against Lyon doesn’t happen without Martens. Great run and pass to set up Oshoala.
I will say though that getting Hermoso should be huge as well. Not just for what she brings to Barcelona, but what signing her takes away from Atletico Madrid.
I agree that Martens does have decent/decent enough numbers for Barcelona, and I'd imagine her overall play outside of goals and assists has been good as a whole. (She certainly has quite a number of great highlights.) What doesn't work quite as well for Martens is how she compares to two of her teammates this past season stats wise. Putellas had a goal or an assist every 75.64 minutes (25 G+A in 1891 minutes), Bonmati had a goal or an assist every 96.05 minutes (19 G+A in 1825 minutes), and Martens had a goal or an assist every 94.94 minutes (18 G+A in 1709 minutes). Again, that's a pretty good number for Martens. However, Putellas was way ahead last season, and Martens, a star name in the women's game, marginally beat out a player that I've never heard of before. (The fact I've never heard of Bonmati before is on me, but I'm not exactly a novice when it comes to following women's football.) Regardless, with Oshoala, Hermoso, Graham Hansen, and Martens together with Putellas and Bonmati (if they can replicate their form last season), Barcelona will have no excuses if they can't win the Primera Division Femenina this upcoming season. Edit: She didn't have as good of a G+A/min ratio in 2017-2018 as she did last season, but Martens was the standout at Barcelona stats wise (goals and assists) that season.
AC Milan 0 - 6 Paris Saint-Germain Hovland 15(og), Katoto 28, Diani 44, 57, Baltimore 86, Zamanian 87 Goal summary
You are (somehow) justified for not knowing Aitana Bonmati, because she's very young (she turned 21 last January) but she's already been a star at youth level: not sure if you followed U-20 WWC 2018 (where Spain also played vs USA at group stage), but Bonmati was captaining Spain NT at that tournament, where Spain finished at 2nd place (Bonmati didn't play the final vs Japan, though, because she had been sent off in the semifinal vs France). (By the way: if you actually followed that U-20 tournament, you could actually know that player as Aitana: don't ask me why, but it often happens that Spanish players, on the pitch, are called with their first name instead of their family name and a lot of players have their first name written on their jersey). You forgot another formidable offensive player for Barcelona: Patri Gujiarro, who is also 21 and who also played for Spain NT at U-20 WWC 2018, where she won both Golden Boot as best scorer of the tournament and Golden Ball as best player! Last season, Guijarro was mostly stopped by an injury, that almost kept her out of WWC 2019 with the senior NT (but the fact that coach Vilda ended up calling her anyway, despite the player still being recovering from the injury, speaks volumes about her value), but this year she looks in good form (at least judging by the recent friendly match vs Arsenal) and she's going to be another powerful weapon for Barça. Basically, Barcelona has more outstanding offensive players than they can actually put on the pitch. Their big problem has always been (and probably will keep being) the defense.
This really does seem to be the case, and it's just a handful of poor games each season that has cost Barcelona the title for years. They beat Atletico twice last season and conceded fewer goals, and Barcelona scored 24 more goals and conceded 9 fewer goals than Atletico in 2017-2018 as they finished one point behind in second. I haven't taken any in depth look at the past seasons, but it seems like Barcelona just keeps on getting outperformed by Atletico in certain matches against the weaker teams in the league.
Thanks I agree, "pretty good". No more. If she continues with seasons like those, she will rank definitely far from the best. But precisely, Barcelona needs the best to join VFL and OL, and it's why Hansen has been signed. At 0-4, in the last minutes, when she already had missed a great chance but true
Drop her a note and give her your critique. She's done quite well for herself. Barca just re-signed her.

Lol, are they serious??? At least, it looks like it's made of tin-foil, judging by how easily they lift it and by how the top of it is swaying...

Matches live on OLTV @soccernutter could we change perhaps thread name for Club Friendlies (without a year) Juventus 2 - 1 Montpellier (Gama 44', Staskova 60' - Dekker 69')
Lyon 4 - 0 Eindhoven (Taylor 45' 58' Parris 82' 90+1') Lyon created more and rightly has won the match but their game a week before UWCL tourney dosen't look convincing. Eindhoven in first half made the hosts look quite average and they done this without bunkeirng. First goal was a gift from van Veenendaal and second one was probably scored from offside position (has to watch replay to confirm). Bench quality and the subs made the difference for Lyon but truth be told PSV fought quite well and could score one goal themselves. In previous match Montpellier look like a team deep into pre-season while Juventus played much more cohesive as a team.
