He'll be on the bench when Hudson-Odoi returns with the way he's playing.

No excuse for him to be playing as timid as he has especially when far less experienced players like Mount & Abraham today have shone.

He played fine. That's a Eurosnob troll comment. You could have at least selectively used that card after games like last week, but I guess you enjoy it too much.

Is anyone still comparing Pulisic to Hazard for any reason?

Truth be told, CHO didn't look that good when he played. The injury saved him, the fans were turning on him already. 391' and a single assist is nothing to write home about, even our Puli's doing better.

He's being compared to Robben these days, actually:

    https://www.squawka.com/en/news/chelsea-youngsters-not-ready-first-team#bF0ugQlxD4IK1MV7.99

    ‘Chelsea’s new Arjen Robben’
Among those to have been left out of the XI at Old Trafford but thrived in the 2-2 draw at the Vodafone Arena was Christian Pulisic who, alongside N’Golo Kante, were the club’s standout performers.

His slick movement and twinkle-toed feet gave Joe Gomez plenty of food for thought, and Cascarino believes his style is reminiscent to that of former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben.

I don't remember the fans turning against CHO. I do remember the fans creating a new chant because of CHO & urging the lad to remain at Chelsea instead of running off to Bayern Munich. BTW, I do consider myself a Chelsea fan too, I feel I have a better insight in this matter than yourself.

Nobody ever should have after he was about 18 years old. He's not that level of decision-maker nor does he have his strength. But still useful for a club of Chelsea's or Dortmund's ilk.

Off topic but Norwich look a decent side. Pukki is a very good striker and will have them in many games. I think they have a great shot at staying up

Besides the assist I thought his 2nd half game was better than the 1st.

In the 1st half he gave the ball away a bit too often.

His performance will need to be a little better the rest of the season considering he was also playing against Norwich.

After the Dynamo game he didn't show much on the field. By April this is what fans were saying (same in the other big board, TalkChelsea):

    https://www.theshedend.com/topic/31330-callum-hudson-odoi/page/84/#comments

"Tough game for him yesterday, at such a young age it's not surprising he still looks raw.

He needs to learn much more, but he'll do it extra quick if he keeps getting in the 1st xi. Lacks total concentration and determination, can sometimes give up on things easily, when things don't go his way he gives off the wrong body language, when he misses a chance he gazes at the grass, head down shoulders slumped, and ponders, when everyone else jumps back to it."

"Genuinely very poor yesterday. No ambition, no running. I think the pressure really got to him

He's demanding to be in the first team, he needs to step up now and take it. That's what Rashford and Sancho did , they weren't charity cases"

"I'd say he was bad yesterday (worse than Willian) and he was average against West Ham since Eden basically saved us by himself."

Note: "worse than Willian" is strong criticism among Chelsea fans, they hate the guy.

"No one's throwing him under a bus, however given he handed in a transfer request and fans want him to be a starter then he should get assessed as one and by those standards he wasn't good enough yesterday, not even remotely close."

"CHO keeps his place by default. But that's not what I want from a player who publicly demands he is good enough to be a first team Chelsea player. He should keep his place because no one's taking it off him."

    Etc.

March and April he produced very little, and was already turning into a bencher by the time he got injured. As it often happens, that he's not playing has made him look better in the fans' eyes.

well on my Twitter list, I am flooded with get well wishes & the hope that CHO could link up with Sancho at Chelsea. Again, I know I have more insight into The Mighty CFC than you. I know the pulse of Chelsea fans. In fact you can join my twitter list for more insight if you like.

Oh right now they're loving him. The more they see of Puli, the more they miss CHO. I'm also following their Twitter stuff.

All I'm saying is that CHO is looking better because "la pátina sofrosina su visión," which is archaic Spanish for "absence makes the heart grow fonder."

Lies. He was the highest rated player in the Europa League last season according to Whoscored's metrics. Shone for England on his full debut.

    9 Games (4 starts)
    414 Minutes
    4 Goals
    2 Assists
    Goal involvement every 69 minutes.
    30 Successful Dribbles
    15 key passes

Insanely talented player physically & technically.

And he's like 5x the player on the left which wasn't available because of Hazard.

Pulisic has to beat out Kovacic, Mount, Pedro, Willian & Barkley for the other two spots.

As I noted, he did well until the Dynamo game, early March. After that, he deflated rapidly. He wasn't even called for the Slavia game, played 4' in the return leg, and got pulled out early against L'pool.

You can't always please all the people all of the time. Hell I thought CP played well today, but there are many who felt he was poor. I loved the fact that he was involved in 2 of the 3 Chelsea goals today.

He's English. Every time he has a good game his market value goes up 2 million quid.

The fans are ok with Puli, they'd love him had he cost £20m.

But you know how Chelsea fans are. In their mind, their ideal team, if only they were coaching, would be beating everybody left and right, except for the other top two teams (City and Pool right now).

So, since with Puli on they're not destroying anyone, and Pedro is mediocre and Willian is their scapegoat, they want CHO back ASAP.

BTW, I don't think Pedro is mediocre. He's just a terrible fit for Chelsea's style. You don't get a finesse player like that when your team loves the direct approach.

I always thought the guy was a very skilled striker. His career was up and down until he went to Denmark. Most pure strikers don't come into their own until their mid twenties.
