I guess we'll see more logical call up than the last microciclo. Like the CA, Colombia is the host and every result beside a spot in the Olympics will be a failure. We have many talented players under 23, use them.

As for the stadium, first one to be confirmed is Alfonso Lopez which is weird, since I can think of other better stadiums in my opinion such as Palmaseca, Hernan Villegas, Palogrande, Murillo Toro, General Santander. I don't know how many stadiums they will need foe the tournament, I think two or three.

Jesurun recently said that we won't be able to call any of our foreign-based players. There's a few FPC guys missing from the last squad...but still...

Also, there's rumors that Peru is going to opt out of the tournament. If that's the case, we should really consider altering the format.

We can use Mexican League players in theory but I doubt many Clubs would allow it since their season is already in session that part of January.
It would not hurt to try and ask though.
Maybe someone like Julián Quiñones of Tigres would be allowed like during the Caribbean/Central American Championship.

    He is eligible.
But once again I doubt America would allow him to go.

    He is eligible for both.
But America can say no to both.

Quieroz brought up the Preolimpico during his press conference and called it a "Mickey Mouse" tournament lol

He dislikes that you can't actually build a process given clubs' non-obligation to loan players out.

So, we're stuck with FPC kids. And, the way he spoke about it, it doesn't seem like they have much faith in doing too well in it...

Regardless, I'm curious to see if the next call-up confirms the last squad is the base of the team or if they're still holding mass tryouts.

    True.

But, let's be honest, the Sudamericano for the sub 20 is under the exact same conditions. I don't accept their not being able to call the 2-3 kids abroad as an excuse for failures. The FPC clubs have their hands tied for these things. There's been more than enough time to build some kind of process.

We have to remember that he comes from the UEFA where the Clubs allow the best of the best to play in the U21 (Which is their qualifying for Olympics.)

So to him it is weird and foreign to have a tournament with guys who are not the best at the age level.

But I still think we can do well. We usually do well at the Youth Level at home no matter who we call up.

Decent team. Glad to see Atuesta, Jhon Arias and Ricardo Márquez being considered. José Ortiz is also an awesome defender.

    Wow.

Even though many won't play the preolimpico, I like that we're taking advantage of the Fifa dates. Hopefully Brazil and Argentina bring decent squads.

Sucks that Benedetti and Quinones are injured. They definitely would've been on this list. That would've been a beastly side.

By the way, just before he criticized the preolimpico, Quieroz specifically mentioned Sinisterra and Cuesta as kids who'll be with the senior squad soon.

So, I guess they're not on this list so as to continue solidifying positions with their Euro clubs with the prospect they may make the Copa America squad.

He hasn't even played an official match. Kid scored a gol on opening day of the Eredevisie and proceeded to have an abysmal 3 years since.

Julian, who plays for Tigres in Mexico. (same team as Luis Quinones)

Many don't like him for disciplinary matters. Nonetheless, kid was impressive as a wide men for Mexico's best team last year. He's proven to be a very capable 9 beforehand.

Hopefully some of the players will be allowed to play in January. Especially the guys who do not play much for their foreign clubs.
But yes, Clubs can just say no thanks. The chances of injury could be the biggest deterrent.
