Super Cup: Liverpool v Chelsea, Istanbul (Wednesday, 20:00 GMT)

Some might say that it is a meaningless game, but it is Super important, because every second of Chelsea football is important. Klopp and Liverpool also consider this game important.

Few people are more excited for the Super Cup than Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp.

He said: "The Super Cup itself is not a cup that I've really loved to watch in the past.

"The Super Cup is the final proof; if you are not in that game, it means you didn't win the final. That's completely different this year, so we're looking forward to it. It's a big one."

Poyet winning us this cup against Real Madrid in 98 was a landmark victory.

    Istanbul (not Constantinople), Turkey
    TV: fuboTV (app), TNT (USA)

As a reward for winning the Europa Cup, we get to fly mid-week to Turkey and face the Champions League winners, Liverpool. I can't see this going well for us, nor the following League match against Leicester on Sunday.

Sounds like Kante picked up a further knock this past Sunday and will not be risked. Rudiger and Willian are with the team but on the bench.

Another tough loss on the cards here - I can't see us breaking down the European champions. Will be interesting to see how much slack fans will give to Lampard here.

Think Frank will have learnt a lesson from Sunday and wouldn't play us as open. Kante might be back so that would be good boost. We will still probably lose but think we will have a better showing.

Its silverware and its liverpool. The last three winners from england have been chelsea and liverpool and that includes a couple of defeats back to back for us including that diego costa effort in 2012.

In terms of prestige I put this above the community shield and league cup and behind the fa cup but based on qualification requirements alone this carries weight.

Travel to Istanbul between two league matches isnt ideal but hope the lads come in positive and aggressive.

No allison or Keita but plenty of weapons. Will be a very difficult test for the team and we are rank outsiders (let's just hope we aren't rank).

Really...above league cup? Not for me. It's a one-game almost pre-season. Can't put too much weight on it.

I re-watched the United match last night. Glutton for punishment.

We played really well and deserved something, for sure.

Zouma...man. Jose rated/rates him highly to this day but I see zero improvement from the day he got here. Flailing legs, rash decision making, high energy rate, yes, but it's generally to recover from his poor positioning. He is a huge liability for us in defense.

Agreed. Rudi can't come soon enough.

But also...Azpi has to do better as well. Caught sleeping on two key moments. Having James put pressure on the RB position is going to be good for them.

Pic from the stadium board of Chelsea's lineup apparently.

    Kante starting in this game...risky.

Interested to see how/what Mount does wide right or if he'll play more centrally.

I see that Man city have only got a fine for the same offence as we were charged with.

The 4-3-3 is much better imho. Well done to Frank for changing it.

Steady as she goes so far. Looking a bit more solid at the back but still managing to create a few chances.

    Pedro hits the woodwork..

All this woodwork is more difficult than scoring goals.
