Yea I had thought of Nowak, but my recollection is that most of the problems came out afterwards and he was publicly fired for performance.
THe Philly thing, the more info that came out......the worse things looked. Doubtful that the MLSPA would allow one of its' members to play for Nowak in MLS again.
From reading the news stories, it sounds like the problems didn't become public until several years later, but the people who fired him did know about them at the time he was fired.

He admits he "lost [his] temper and showed poor judgment" and "already apologized to that official." But he asserts his actions, in having "used" a "Spanish word" with "different interpretations" have been "misinterpreted or twisted"? And he "always respected the rights of individuals"? So, just what was the content of that alleged apology to that official?
Wilmer Cabrera fired? The Dynamo have totally collapsed, their playoff odds have gone from over 90% as late as mid-June to under 10%% now...
Houston Dynamo part ways with Wilmer Cabrera Assistant coach Davy Arnaud will lead the team on an interim basis for the remainder of the season. Dynamo part ways with head coach Wilmer Cabrera
If Wayne Rooney can be player-coach so can DaMarcus Beasley.— Matthew Doyle (@MattDoyle76) August 13, 2019 For those keeping track: Josh Wolff is the head coach of Austin FC, Davy Arnaud is the head coach of the Houston Dynamo and Pat Onstad is the technical director of the Columbus Crew. The Ben Olsen coaching tree is totally a thing now.— Thomas Floyd (@ThomasFloyd) August 13, 2019
Matt Jordan, GM, is really good at setting his teams up for that. How he still has a job...must have some real dirty pictures of Brener, Oscar, Harden, etc...
Dirty pictures of ODLH? I don't think anyone can top the fishnets pictures of Oscar. Maybe they all simply don't care for the team enough.
So, by my count, that makes five coaches who have been fired before the leader in the clubhouse poll results.
Heck I could see five more being fired before December at this point (most likely to least likely depending on if they miss the playoffs): 1) James O'Connor 2) Veljko Paunovic 3) Marc dos Santos 4) Remi Garde 5) Greg Vanney
I'd swap out Garde with Olsen, who is almost certainly gone unless his team makes an MLS Cup final appearance.
That's just....bizarre to think about. Itd be incredibly harsh for me but then again, it's a dog eat dog world
Agreed, Vermes isn't getting fired. SKC has had a lot of injuries and played well in CCL early on. He'll get a mulligan.
It wouldn't surprise me, however, if Vermes' agent is a bit more active than usual this offseason, since it's better to jump than be pushed.
