you got your wish as he came on the 86st min to make his 2BL debut. 1-1 FT, he played like 4 min+3 min in injury time. Did not do much in his time, did not really get much of the ball. and that's 1 pts after 2 matchdays for H96. Very closing to winning it and very close to losing it as Jahn missed a PK.
Oohhhh. Launching fox now since puli’s out. this is gonna be a tough season to keep up with all these guys. Great problem to have.
Why can’t they at least overdub a game clock and score line on the BL2 streams on the Matchpass stream??

Chile has contacted U.S. U-20 international Sebastian Soto about playing for La Roja: https://t.co/hyDrkmROJb #usynt #usmnt— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) August 15, 2019 i dunno where to even start here. he is a great prospect but hard to believe he is ready to play for any national team just now?
Maybe for their youth teams or just to get into their set-up? He’s definitely not ready for any of the US, Mexico or Chile. Probably just a conversation starter. Letting him know that they are watching and interested.
it makes perfect sense tbh, if one remembers that Chile's golden generation is closer and closer to be done. A lot of guys who are already in their 30s. the real news. With Soto's current contract expiring after this season, Hannover and the player were attempting to reach an agreement on a new deal, but couldn't agree on the contract's length. Hannover wanted a three-year contract while Soto desired a two-year deal. A source with knowledge of the negotiations said that all talks have been shelved as a consequence. Soto can sign a pre-contract with another club as soon as this January, assuming he and Hannover do not reach an agreement before then.
honestly doesnt that just sound like a formula to screw up development for a season since your present team has no interest in developing you? even if he transfers in january he probably doesnt get acclimated until middle of february?
So he's going to potentially waste this year rotting at Hannover and then sign elsewhere for 2+ years? That sounds like 3 years to me. Brilliant negotiating tactics on his agent's part. And this Chile talk makes little sense. He's still a youth prospect with a nice youth resume and nothing more.
I agree with what seems to be the consensus here: 1) I can't believe he'd merit a call-up for any decent senior national team at this point. He had 25 minutes in the Bundesliga last year, and so far, has 4 minutes in the 2nd Bundesliga this year. I know Chile's roster is getting older, but that's a pretty big reach to call up someone with that slim a resume. 2) If he already knows it's not going to work out at Hannover longterm, it doesn't seem worth it to stay this season. I mean, he shouldn't move to a worse situation just for the sake of forcing a move, but given what he showed at the U-20 WC, I'd have to think that some pretty decent Dutch/Belgian/Danish club would be willing to pay a modest transfer price for him and take a shot at developing him further for a big pay day down the line.
I'd think that a 3-year deal that his present team wants indicates they have an interest in his development (and future transfer value). His insistence on a 2-year deal (if true) would suggest that he wants to leave them as soon as he thinks he'll be ready to move up. Nothing about this says to me that Hanover doesn't want to develop him.
Hannover probably doesn’t have a ton of interest in developing him now that he is going to leave next summer for free.
thats the truth, Slomka said he has no real interest in dev a player who doesn't extend. thing is in this day and age, a lot of countries are calling up players to senior NT who don't deserve it just to permanently get them. Canada, Wales, etc some Euro countries have done it with with German duals or for foreign duals who play in Germany. Why wait and risk losing them to the "competition"? It's a gamble on potential of a player. What exactly do they lose? As for USA, from an outsider perspective, I dunno, when it comes to USA strikers, way too much focus on Altidore/Morris/Zardes etc and then it goes to Sargent/Weah for youngsters. And USSF seems to focus a lot on Sargent being the future for the role. A lot of matches only 1 is played uptop as well. Maybe that's not a very appealing situation.
Sure, but I quoted a prior poster who insinuated that Soto's present team doesn't have an interest in developing him, which isn't the case. Wanting to re-sign him to a 3-year contract indicates that they would like to retain Soto and continue to develop him. Now, with the lack of an agreement on length of contract, they will have minimal interest in doing so.
Hannover has no incentive to play him at all now since he wont re-sign and hes not getting playing time. Its a chicken egg thing in my eyes. Why would I re-sign if you dont play me and why would I play you if you wont resign...
I knew Chile's best players were getting old. What I didn't realize is just how mediocre the talent is in their pipeline. The last few years they've produced very few decent forwards and most of their top players end up in their domestic league or Mexico. Soto would actually be a decent pickup for them and they are right to be interested. That said, I don't know how much connection Soto has to Chile outside of his parents, and since he's provisionally cap tied he'd have to be committed to the switch. However this plays out I don't see any decisions being made until he's more established at a club and genuinely warrants a call up to either team.
