Good question. I'm thinking $10-20 per seat per game for where I now sit (getting into Blue Jackets range). Maybe more. Which means I'm moving or going to a half-season plan. I'm in 124 currently. I do not expect to be in the equivalent in the new stadium.
Sitting in the south end cheap seats again. My total for three season tickets are around $200 cheaper. Last year is the first year I’ve been a season ticket holder since I was in high school so I didn’t get the benefit of being a returning STM and I also waited until (I think) February to sign up. I’m hoping that the price hike for the new stadium isn’t much more than what I’ve paid for the 2019 season.
Lucky bastard. My 21 year old (back living at home since graduating college) has a legit job interview today. Fingers very, very tightly crossed. Of course, my daughter's only 15, so it'll be a while before I'll have a shot at being an empty nester. But let's just say I'm counting the minutes.
If anyone is curious as to what NEW season ticket memberships cost right now, here you go (Where BS posters have mentioned their section and renewal cost, I've included the link): Center Circle: $1,020 Preferred East: $833 ($663 - My seats) Lower Sidelines: $561 ($471 per https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2019-season-membership-thread.2094753/page-9#post-38049312) Lower Corners: $561 South Stands: $425 Upper Sidelines: $493 ($425 per https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2019-season-membership-thread.2094753/page-10#post-38050048) Upper Corners: $442 Nordecke: $391 ($329 per https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/2019-season-membership-thread.2094753/page-10#post-38051844) Bottom line, is there is a good advantage to being a renewal vs a new STM.
All info about East Preferred posted here has been accurate. The smaller than the ticket tax bump is nice. Based on Bez's quotes from that Athletic piece that @LaMacchia summarized for us, with the expected opening of the new stadium in July 2021, it will be a nice staggered increase maybe, with some home games played at Mapfre and some in the new digs. So the price of a season ticket will increase some in 2021 and the rest in 2022 when we play a full season in the new place. Might make it an easier pill to swallow. Though I'm with most of you here, thinking about sacrificing some of the quality of my current seats to make the pain on my wallet a bit less. I have tenure from 1997 so figure I'll get an early crack at picking my spot. Front row center midfield of the upper deck is how I'm currently leaning. Love my row 13 midfield seat now, but double or more of my current cost is not doable by my group. I wouldn't want to be halfway back in the upper deck, I'd look to the lower corners before that, but front row is tempting....
You may have a great view all season from row 1 of 226 then get bumped for the playoffs. That happened 2 years ago. The team wanted to accommodate an NYCFC video guy with a bunch of equipment.
I'm not saying it wouldn't happen again, but I will say that the decision makers are different this year. Unless there's a league policy or something. There's also now that video booth at the top of 226.
I'm in the exact same situation as you. Season ticket holder since 1997 and sit in east preferred midfield (originally row 4 but now row 15 due to the change from bleachers to individual seats) I have added seats over the years from 2 to 6 and like you I don't think I will be able to stay in my same seat location in the new stadium due to the likelihood of a big price increase. I will have to figure out what I will be able to afford and where I will be happy to sit.
Season tickets since the beginning (deposits in the spring of '94) so I'll have seniority to sit wherever I want, assuming seniority does that. Sitting in the 3rd row of 225 (I tell non-regulars it's the 42 yard line) and love the sightlines as much as I thought I would. Lower row of the upper deck for me! Biggest gripe is the way people congregate and loiter on the rail of the entryway, blocking the view to the side, so I will probably take that into account when choosing, to stay away from an aisle. The one season of the Ohio Glory (yes, I am that old) my season tickets in the horseshoe were in 18C, with the sun in my eyes, and I was taught my lesson and I learned my lesson about that. I have decided I am willing to pay what regular seats (as distinguished from corporate club seats) cost, but I'm not entirely sure the other retirees in my group will be as willing.
Did you also have Xoggz season tickets back at what is now the Emerald Campus of Dublin City Schools?
I am currently in Row 1 of 226. Let me tell you how pi$$ed I was to walk in and see that NYCFC video duo sitting in my seats. Called Shanee' the next day and let a rant fly. I was letting Costa (Kosta?, damn, why can't I remember that...our usher) have it as well. Based on the survey that I saw, I was never asked about a west side upper deck seat. So that makes me wonder if there will even be a shot at those. The East side upper center 'suggested' prices were still about double what I pay now IIRC. I will mourn for the loss of my great seats in two years, and enjoy them for the remainder of their tenure with me.
Did the Xoggs sell season tickets? I used to just walk up, especially when there was a conflict at Dublin Stadium and they played on Field 1 at Soccer First.
I did--and was a volunteer for the team too (as was Mrs. KG). One of my most prized possessions is my Xoggz STAFF shirt. Many memories.... Talk about grassroots...
They sold books of tickets. You may be misremembering slightly. They had different fields depending on the season. The first year they played in front of Dublin Coffman--I only went to one game there.. The second, as I recall, was on Field 1 at Soccer First--with the infamous spray-painted scoreboard. That was when I started getting involved with the team. The next season all games were at the HS stadium, including the USISL All-Star game. The next season they were supposed to play at the stadium, but the school district decided to "refurbish" the grass with little to no notice, which pushed the team off onto some fields behind the stadium down a hill. That really hurt attendance--as did the coming of the Crew. Not sure they ever used Field 1 as a replacement, though. The team did play a number of games outside Columbus. One was out toward Dayton, and we had to use cars to light the field to pick up all of the gear (and it went OT). I think another was in Nerk. After the team folded, a number of the guys went out to Indy to play for the Blast the next year, which is how I got to meet Kenn Tomasch as I did some photography for the team.
No, I'm actually back in row 10 but saw it at the playoff game vs NYCFC 2 years ago. A couple of Crew fans had their seats taken away so the pigeons guy could sit in one of them with a camera while his laptop was in the next seat. Edit: You tell 'em Dr Fever!
It's only a few dollars, but my Nordecke renewal is $323 per seat. Two seats, $658 total including $12 processing fee. Was the $329 just splitting that processing fee in half? I'm not sure it works that way. It might be $12 per order regardless of quantities. It could also be that I'm talking out of my ass.
