When you win your league 8 years in a row, you have to find things to complain about . . .

Only reports I've heard that are negative are from Juventus fans looking for a scapegoat. If you look at the numbers (tackles, interceptions, aerial wins, etc...) He presents as one of the better CBs in the Series A.

They won't play him regularly, then drop him into a game, makes one mistake, and they crucify him. Guy needs regular playing time, preferably with a quicker stronger CB, someone like...Sokratis.

I know it's a while back but when he was at Empoli, as a 20 year old, he played 38 games and was never subbed off. It was a Serie A record. 2014/2015 if anyone cares to look it up.

Well if those are the terms, we are basically buying him while also avoiding having to shell out a large transfer fee this window (and probably working around FFP too).

I'm sure that is our goal. Can't help but wonder what happens if he does really well in year one and Juventus opted to recall him from loan next summer.

I'm sure the Bordeaux marketing team searched hours and hours on eBay to find a Puma Arsenal Jersey for that reveal

They are completely different players. Many of Mustafi's mistakes come because he is to rash, he takes chances when he shouldn't. Rugani adheres to the Italian philosophy, as expressed by Paolo Maldini, if you have to make a tackle, you have already made a mistake. I don't know whether or not he will succeed in the Premier League, but if he doesn't, it won't be because he was to rash.

No idea. All I read was that they were looking to cut a deal.

    Yes.

Obviously high value assets should be moved strategically, but the trash can be taken out at the end of the window when you know what depth you need.

CB numbers aren’t especially useful. You get weird results, like Mustafi having better data than VVD.

I disagree. If they up it to around £40 million, then I'd listen.

IMO a mistake Arsenal has made repeatedly in recent years is being too cautious in trying to trade up its assets.

Other teams are willing to sacrifice good players who can raise cash to finance plans. But that does mean some schmertzen

Teams don't want to buy our junk so we have to say goodbye to players who are very decent.

I would have tried to raise the thick end of 8 figures by unloading Iwobi, Xhaka and then all the spare parts like Koz, Mozzer, Ninny, Jenks, etc

Then spend all of it on 2 defenders

I have no problem trading up for Iwobi or Xhaka. I just think £30m is too low.
