Not cheering for this guy. Sorry. https://www.cnn.com/2019/06/08/foot...erdogan-wedding-arsenal-mesut-ozil/index.html And Martins? Maybe the plan is to create the kind of villain of MLS thing. Go full WWE on the league. What's next? Hire Trump's kid?
I think he played great while here. And I don't begrudge him the chance to go home if that's where he needs to go. What I want to know is where should we go out drinking with all that Derby money? Oh, wait...
They are panicking, my friend. After all, season ticket renewals have just begun. Rest assured, nothing much will come of all this big talk about signing another fading European superstar. Who, aside from the truly desperate, would want to come accross the pond to play for the West Ham United of Major League Soccer?
But, Rooney would rather be a player/coach for Derby County than us. Moreover, as we know, Rooney is arguably the greatest England National Team player of all time. Riddle me that, Batman. And, I don't buy all this stuff about his wife being homesick although I think there's a lot of truth in it. They apparently are not a very sophisticated couple and I imagine that neither Rooney nor his wife have anything more than a 10th grade education. And, she's never lived far away from friends and family before. Who knows - she may have been sitting at home all day in Bethesda and watching TV during the past year. That certainly would bore the daylights out of me. Having said all that, if we were serious contenders for the MLS championship, there's no way Rooney would be dumping us for Derby County in the late stages of our season.
The Truth hurts. Incidentally, the word on the street is that back in the Olden Days at least a few D.C. United players lurked on BigSoccer. One of them, supposedly, even assumed a false identity and posted on these very message boards! Of course, that sort of thing would never happen now . . .
I won't be. In fact, I'll most likely wear it to the game on Sunday. Same as with my Nats Bryce Harper jersey - why burn or deface it?
Things happen, the man came here from day one and has busted his hump as much or more than any other guy on the squad. He's the antithesis of Lucho. I just hope my son keeps his head about it. With my son, you either LOVE the club or can get f-cked. He's already not wearing his old Lucho jersey. Harper is a bit different for me. He was a draft pick, got everything, delivered a lot, but there were some apathetic stretches and when it was contract time, he was offered a shit ton of money. More than he could spend in a couple lifetimes, it was generational wealth. Even though he got more and perhaps better terms, going to Philly is thumb in the eye from my PoV. I wouldn't burn it necessarily, but I'd be hard pressed to ever put it on again. I've got 2 of the previous home shirt, a plain one and a Mullins that sits in the drawer ... glad it was free. If you've gotta buy a jersey, get no # or a # for a club legend, hall of famer, then you don't have these kinds of issues. I've got 2 Nats jersey's, no # and a Strasburg. A plain Caps and the Stanley Cup Playoffs Ovi that should keep me in good stead forever. I don't follow basketball and my NYG LT jersey prolly should be replaced, but as long as your guy doesn't go full asshole, if you buy smart, only an OJ or LT act can ruin it.
Picked up an official Backstrom sweater for the same reason as @PSURoss, not just a flavor of the month.
I bought a Jaromir Jagr Flames jersey in 2017/18 because while he barely played for the Flames, there was no way I wasn't going to get a jersey with a legit legend stitched on the back.
DC United wouldnt but now a days teams are doing exchanges when guys go off the deep end. See the Patriots & the Ravens for example.
