On the bench today. With Benedetti and Martinez starting. Hopefully is healthy for the asian tour. Tho really want to see Cantillo get a start
Super excited to see a potential partnership between Diaz and Uribe this season. https://espndeportes.espn.com/futbo...anuncia-acuerdo-con-el-porto-por-mateus-uribe

somewhere after the Cantillo interest faded, they moved on to Mexico. it's been in the works for about a week or 2, but yes they got it done fairly quickly. Had no issues paying the release clause finally this thread will be active
Am I the only one thinking that Uribe is a less physically gifted, slightly more disciplined version of Guarin?
Well said. A good friend of mine is a huge Porto supporter and yesterday he asked me what to expect from Uribe and I told him “think Guarin, but with more discipline.
He is much better at heading the ball than Guarin too. I can see him scoring some goals off headers if opposing defenders do not mark him well.
Good thing the coach for Porto used to be a winger, so Diaz will hopefully learn a thing or two from Sergio conceição
If uribe improves his bad level of the last year in mexico he will do...........if not he will be in field as bad agisnt chile. Yes with 28 years he SHOULD have to adapt but only ih in he is in good level.......at the end he wasnt used as cmf and as attciking midfielder with not the best reuslts. Diaz is adapating well...have scored in friendlies and debuted in champions for 30 minutes.
yeah Luis Diaz has done pretty well in the time he's been given, he has scored and has won several fouls and pk's for Porto. They are taking their time with him due to fitness levels.
Uribe+Diaz vs. Sinisterra today in the Europa League. Lets hope they all start, play well and stay healthy.
A Couple of things of note: 1) Porto had a very cool Free Kick design in which Uribe scooped the over the wall to his teammate. I love and appreciate subtle things like that to catch sleeping defenses off guard. I hope we emulate it and try it some day (or some other design). Could be useful if opponents are keyed in on James or JuanFer in certain situations. 2) Diaz had a wicked shot that rattled the crossbar. It was unfortunate not to go in. Reminded me a tiny bit of the one he did against Japan but that one was further out.
That's a very good win for Feyernoord. Porto is a very, very good defensive and pressing team, they really suffocate teams. Porto is still a bit inconsistent especially if they go down in a game their style somewhat isn't build for playing from behind and they haven't as a unit learned to handle that yet. I think Porto really missed Diaz starting, its crazy how quickly he's integrated but his ability, pace and work really causes a ton of problems for teams, Nakijama is actually a really good playmaker and a player I like a lot but Diaz just is such a force in that 4-4-2 system that I think he's already one of the most essential players already.
