Hate to be the bearer of bad news—I am definitely enjoying the Jerry Lucas power hour—but neither Lucas or Kennard have ever held the Ohio high school scoring title

You are correct Jon Ziegler is number 1, scored 3208 points in four years of play, averaged 802 per year. Like Kennard is number 2,scored 2977 over four years. Averaged 744.25 per year. Jerry Lucas is number 11 he scored 2460 over three years. Averaged 820 a year. Lucas was the only player in the list that didn't play four years.Middletown had a three year high school program. If the Middletown program had not been so strong they probably would have played him. Additional All the teams in the league were strong. almost if not all teams in the league had won state title so there were no weak sisters in the league to take advantage of.

In addition Lucas was an all around player. Lucas spent hours practicing not just shooting and scoring but shooting the ball towards different parts of the hoops rim so he could see what direction the ball would go when it bounced off. That way he knew where he should go to get the rebound before anyone else reacted!

Real Salt Lake coach Mike Petke suspended from MLS, Leagues Cup matches
    • Suspended for 3 Leagues Cup matches
    • Suspended for 2 additional MLS games (3 total)
    • $25,000 USD fine
    • Attend anger management, sensitivity and diversity training
    • RSL is also suspending him from all team activity for two weeks without pay
He apparently dropped a few P-Bombs during an angry tirade after RSL's match against Tigres.

P word=suspension. Fracturing someone's skull playing in a game where you were supposed to be suspended = no suspension.

    Okay, MLS.

Gotta wonder what the reaction from Fifth Ave would have been if Petke was still coaching on a coast, especially LA...

It's a form of going nuclear in an argument.

    It's very stupid.

So I actually buy the argument that the Seattle FO is making that the general "anti-Nazi" idea from this iconography (historically) has been or could be co-opted by violent leftist antifa protesters, who certainly exist. On the other hand, do most people recognize it as just meaning "generally anti-Nazi" / "pro-Democracy" or as violent and left? If so, aren't we setting a really bad precedent that if any fringe political group uses a symbol, that symbol is now censored.

That is, doesn't logic also hold that if MLS clubs ban the three spikes flag that they should also ban the the "Don't Tread On Me" Gadsden Revolution Rattlesnake flag that the Tea Party and other far right groups have "co-opted"? (And also a flag that USSF adopted for a time.)

I think you're right, @POdinCowtown : This will end well.

I was sad when I had to stop flying my Gadsden flag on USMNT game days at my house, as I knew people would misinterpret it as Tea Party support 9/10. On the other hand, I do not think it a good practice to abandon symbolism because of fringe groups. I still use my Gadsden flag at stadiums etc. where the context would be clearer.

To put that in perspective, think of the Indian groups who used to use the sw....ka as a good luck symbol, which it had been for most of its centuries-long history.

Unfortunately, symbols are always subject to misinterpretations. When our church first built its northside facility 20+ years ago, they put in a children's playground that happened to have a rainbow canopy over the slide. All of a sudden, they started getting a lot of calls asking if they performed "commitment ceremonies".... But it was just a kids playground. No symbology intended.

The winner is always on the right side of history! The looser is always on the wrong side of history! Of course this can change depending on who is doing the revision of the history!

    The rainbow sym
The rainbow over the children's slide represented happiness and good times! The synonym for happy is gay so I assume that is the reason for the misunderstanding!

Garber - "We focus on bringing in the right owners who have the long-term capacity to invest in not only their rosters but also in infrastructure and marketing and the like." Not sure Tony two chins fits that mold in any way, shape or form. Likely to go down as Garbers biggest mistake.
