will be very interesting how he handles the scrutiny. I mean, fine shot in training, but "wonder strike..." Brits may have once perfected the English language, but they have badly devalued it in interim...

Amazing - an uncovered 19' strike to the lower far corner in practice is now amazing? I mean, I'd like him to hit those consistently in games, but at half speed with no defense? Really not that hard ... for a pretty good amateur.

Reminds me of getting excited about Yi Jianlian - a Chinese basketball player drafted by the Celtics - who had relatively little game film to share so he got people excited by showing videos of him crossing over and posting up a chair.

Sounds like you managed to summon a relatively peaceful Amish demon.

i thought we would see some type of great scrimmage shot.. not a shot taken with no defense in a drill... odd indeed.

It was the Bucks, but man what a throw back that name is. I remember he was supposed to be able to dribble like a guard at 7 feet tall lol. Antetokounmpo is what he was supposed to be

Hope he plays out wide on the left. I’m also okay with him playing as a free roaming #10.

Right wing is not as good of a fit for him and hopefully Lampard never puts him at wingback.

I can really only say one thing so far about all of this.... CP will be able to become his best because Kante will be behind him. (Also, season start please!)

don't worry my friend the season is about to begin. On August 11th, Man U. On August 14th, Liverpool. That isn't far away at all.

I am just happy he is training and has the shot to take his next step. But he will have to summon all his mental courage to avoid the press and try to compartmentalize that away.

    Exactly!

With a world class central mid behind you, it gives you the complete confidence to take risks and try shit.

If only someone on the USMNT could grow into a center mid who eventually do CONCACAF's best Kante impression to support Pulisic - if only we could find that player - maybe we should try to convert one of our right backs.

Surely did not wake up today expecting to stumble across a Yi Jianlian reference today.

    Rep for that.

Whatever gets him on the field regularly, but I agree, wingback is not where he needs to be. It limits his most effective attributes.

No one has ever really tried to make him a right back. He played there a few times for Dortmund. I think those were "Oh crap, look at the injuries list - who can play right back" and at least one "these guys aren't going to score on us, let's add another attacker by playing Pulisic at right back" situations.

A 5'8" CAM playmaker in England better be strong as an ox. Even Hazard did better on the left.
