If this remains the scenario I'd probably sell to the only club that appears to be making a serious offer. But say things evolve such that Atleti is offering 50m and De Laurentiis gets his head part way out of his ass and offers 35m, I think it'd be an easy decision to sell to someone other than a sworn enemy. Then again I know that I rate James (and Llorente) higher than most.

(We should probably be responding to De Laurentiis's idiocy by making lowball offers for Koulibaly and Ruiz)

I’d rather keep him in the squad to be honest than giving him away. He can be a game changer from the bench. Plus not forget if we are losing 1M by offloading him, keeping him actually earns us some money through his image rights

He’ll probably piss-off next summer when he’s sick of the bench

It's not a loan lmao, we're not obligatory nor expected to cover half of his wages. We could cut a deal with him and offer him some bonus inciting him to leave.

It's more about freeing up wages for signings like Pogba, Mbappe etc. I still think there's a deal to be made with Bale + cash for Pogba. 80M + Bale + bonuses.

Very good to see that the club recognizes Ceballos’s potential and aren’t just throwing him away, his “ I will succeed at Madrid “ no matter what” attitude has helped as well.

The Kroos contract extension worries me. Even if we do sign Pogba, it shows that the plan is still to start Kroos which is very worrying. Only hope is that Modric rediscovers his form.

Horrible offer. As you said, it's like giving him to them for free if we pay half the wages.

Thanksfully his agent said it was BS.

If it's to give him away for free, then better keep him as a sub for bench depth.

And zero reason to make any gift to Levy. He's the same kind as De Laurentiis.

With Ramsey gone, Ceballos could probably play a lot of minutes at Arsenal. He’s better than Xhaka as well imo

Problem is that his signing is going to cost us the sky.

Its the best possible offer the club can get. Its just gonna get worse and worse from now. If we didn't sell him when we should have in summer 2018, now all we can do is cut the losses. The gulf between his quality and his star status and self worth is enormous. He will contribute practically nothing between his medical breaks, golf tours and toxic locker room/media presence. Just cut the losses asap, its a better offer than we can hope for.

I think he could contribute more than this. I do have concern for the right wing. While it’s extremely unlikely that he will play to the level of his wages, I think Vinicius/Asensio as our right wing depth is a bit suspect. What happens when one of them gets hurt? Vinicius will be playing a relatively new position for him at least in the context of Real. We dont know what we can get out of Asensio. It seems Rodrygo can’t play until December.

I hope Vinicius locks down that position all year, but it’s a gamble to have no strong backup plan.

Even then I don’t think he wants to leave, and it seems the club can’t make him leave

Its odd because they used to be a "friendly" club.

IIRC, when they signed Higuain that summer he was "committed to winning" ($ $$) but now I guess not so much.

I don't know, Felix + James could be a "net" upgrade over Griezman, but both players will need to perform up to their full potential.

They are also relying on Morata... I mean we complain about Benzema snooze buttoning his way to 25 goals but talk about underachieving.

So Atletico according to Marca is close to finalizing two new transfers

Trippier and HERMOSO for below release clause price. What’s our percentage on Hermoso sell-on fee? I always wanted him to take Nacho’s spot on the team
