Cristo Gonzalez, one of Real Madrid Castilla's stars last year, has decided to join Udinese, though Real Madrid have inserted a buyback clause. The former Tenerife forward scored 22 goals last season -marca
Well, lets start with the statistics. For the past five years, they've finished on average ~11 points behind the leaders. For the past 3 years, it's 13 points. They are a cup team, because they're defensively strong and can play out draws or narrow results against better opposition over 2 legs. But those draws bite them in the league, and they routinely are running for 2nd place. The closest they've come in the past 5 years is 4 seasons ago, and even then they finished 3rd. 18/19 - 9 17/18 - 14 16/17 - 15 15/16 - 3 14/15 - 16 Not to mention they've had incredible turnover and are betting HEAVILY on Joao Felix (a teenager). I can totally see how someone would see them as a league threat. But save me the hyperbole about how my take is so impossible to believe - it's pretty rational seeing the above. PS, we haven't been much of a league threat either in the past 2 seasons. Not sure I'd bet on our league chances until the midget in Barcelona slows down.
Because they've lost four starters, which happened to be four of their five best players. Not hard to come to the conclusion
Reasonable take given the bolded as a qualification. My view is we’d be selling a world class player to a club in our own league that we aren’t clearly better than at the moment, so I don’t like it — regardless of whether either of us is truly ready to mount a title challenge. And that’s not even considering he’d be playing for our little brother rival in our own back yard.
Have you guys seen the Hazard/Kubo video on RM's social media? Hazard is hilarious and Kubo speaks perfect Spanish and English. Great duo! Here it is:
Except we are clearly better than them atm Our forwards are better (bye Greasy), our midfield is better, our defense is now better (bye Godin I won't miss you), only place they have us beat is in the keeper situation.
Cracking player in the making. Take Kubo already impressing in Real Madrid training. Won’t be staying at Castilla for long. https://t.co/7vUiaD2j22— La Masia (@Youngcules) July 14, 2019
https://www.marca.com/futbol/real-madrid/2019/07/15/5d2ccd8f268e3e57298b4622.html Marca claims that Spurs are willing to pay 50 -60 mil for Bale, please let this be true lol.
Question is what are we going to do with it? Pogba rumours seem to be fading away day by day, Eriksen non existent.
Would make for a total of 225M in sales with few players left to sell(Mariano,Mayoral,Keylor,Vasquez, Isco, Ceballos, L Silva, Nacho/Vallejo being possibilities).
Would be pretty much a free transfer if we pay half his (pre tax)wages. Guess club would take it though. Spurs have apparently made a bid for Bale. #THFCThat offer is €50M-€60M and they are only able to cover half his wages.Madrid need to decide whether it's worth taking the hit to get him out of the club. https://t.co/ZImG36HrFE— Andrew Gaffney (@GaffneyVLC) July 15, 2019
Napoli's negotiations for James slow down with Atlético Madrid entering the race, complicating the deal to bring the Colombian to Italy, whose will is to remain in Madrid, but the Partenopei will not give up that easily. [@DiMarzio]— 𝗥𝗠𝗢𝗻𝗹𝘆 (@ReaIMadridOnly) July 15, 2019
El Real Madrid no piensa regalar ni malvender a Gareth Bale https://t.co/tlZ1rufTG3 Por @jfelixdiaz pic.twitter.com/EVndvcVQt8— MARCA (@marca) July 15, 2019 Jose Felix Diaz writes a follow-up piece to the Bale story. In short, he says that Madrid won't sell Bale on a bad deal. He is a player that could be sold, but the brass is comfortable with him staying. There have been multiple offers, but none meeting the expectation of Real who want 70-80 and wages covered. It also says he's had a very positive attitude so far in preseason, with players saying he is socializing and participating with the group more than ever.
Translation for dummies: "no one offered the same wages Bale is earning here at RM, so every attempt at transferring him failed because Bale won't sit on the great cheque he earns here every months".
Situation is as good as it could be under the circumstances, Bale has very high wages. Let's see what happens.
We’ve always been better than them on paper. Hasn’t always borne out on the pitch in la liga. Bottom line they are absolutely a competitor and I’d prefer to avoid selling a rival and a competitor a gifted attacker for peanuts.
If 42 ME is peanuts what will you call loan plus option deal Napoli cheapskate owner wants? There are contradicting reports whether the option is mandatory or like Bayern one(which would be terrible). Club would rather sell abroad if there were better offers, but doesn't even seem close at this point.
I'm not buying this Bale for €50M story. But even if true, people do realize that equates to a free transfer, correct? His wages are €17m net, so €34M gross. €34M x 3 years / 2 = €51M outgoing on wages. Essentially, we're paying €1M to get him out of here. Not bad business considering all the circumstances, but people shouldn't be getting uppity about the transfer fee.
