The new city becomes the bulk of the fanbase. Some people from the other city will still have an attachment to the team and follow

That doesn't necessarily mean that they were begging for him.
He has shown on more than one occasion that he is particular about the manager/club location/etc. that he will play at.

Just the fact he scores more than all of our three starters combined, it is a massive change. I don`t see how anybody cannot consider him as an upgrade especially after observing last season. Eriksen plus another dynamic quality midfielder, and we can say this summer transfer period is a success.

p.s: I have just read that coaching staff is impressed by Kubo. He may stay.

He was always going to stay... with Castilla.

There were never rumours of him being loaned. The plan was always to have him do the pre-season with the first team and then join up with Castilla for the season.

    Nothing has changed.

This is indeed the plan. I'm looking forward to see Real Madrid play. Not only the first team, but Castilla will be a joy to watch with Kubo and Rodrygo and Raul as the coach!

Well if he impresses the coaching staff as rumored then he might end up finding himself with the first team earlier than expected, like Vinicius.

I have not idea to be honest.. It may work simply because he will have three CMs who are actually workhorses.. or would be doing all of the dirty work for him more so than at Bayern actually. But the style of play may be a problem.

As if that isn't the case with almost every other player out there.. who would always go with who they like.. or think would work best.
I am not sure why this is, just in the case of James, tried to be painted as a bad thing.

James is a pretty hard worker, so I don't think that aspect of it is going to be an issue. Style of play might very well be an issue.

Napoli make it sound as if we are asking 100ME or more.

Just pay up De Laurentiis! Easiest transfer ever.

edit: Just read de Laurentiis trashed other clubs that want Allan. He is so toxic. As if Allan was 10 times better than somebody like James ffs.

For me...he will always be a concern if seen as a cornerstone player due to his constant knocks.

He wants guaranteed time and role, but continuity has been an issue pretty much every year.

He went head to head against prime Modric, Kroos and Casemiro in the Bernabeu and he outshone all of them and damn near everyone else on the field (save for King Keylor (8 saves) and whoever that boneheaded Neuer replacement was).

I figure him and Morata are going to relish that "spoiler" role and it fits Pathetico's as club perfectly so their fans will eat it up to. I can definitely see us dropping a couple of derbies in the coming seasons.

    On the other hand..https://www.beinsports.com/us/laliga/video/morata-chip-goal-called-offside/1109085.

Atletico have some very good pieces between James, Morata, Felix, Diego Costa and Lemar. They have shooting, crossing, dribbling, power, pace, size, speed, quickness, agility, youth, experience.

Its a very well rounded group even if lacking a Balon d'Or candidate.

I think James is the least of their worries, he's reliable in that you know what you are getting and he's very good at it. They will need Morata at his best and Felix to play anywhere close to his fee for it to work tho.

    for whom?
for fans, some are angry, some continue to watch the "new team", some completely forgets it.
for the team, it usually works well in the beginning since new money is pouring in, but these are usually long term commitments, sometimes involving a completely new stadium.
to be honest, it is super weird for me as someone that was not born here but lived here for many years.

You have to admit, it's fun watching him talk out of both sides of his mouth. He's trying to walk this thin line of praising James, while also lowering the price, and could not be doing any worse.

One side: James is on a tier of players right below Messi & Cristiano
Other side: €42M is OUTRAGEOUS. €10M + €30M option is a fair deal for someone of that caliber.

At this point, with the amount he's flamed JAS & Flo, I'm more open to the €50M Atleti offer. I don't see them as a league or CL threat - maybe in the Copa, and I can live with that.

Well, Flo should just cut off negotiations, and that's all.

And I hope no one will buy his average players. Keep them in like Allan post winter mercato. They will be unhappy, and play like crap.

I don't have anything against this club but their president makes them unbearable.

I get the feeling that ATM is being used as a stalking horse to get us to sell James to Napoli....

They will remain in the race until the end, but with at least 5 new starters, I find it hard to believe they will develop the chemistry necessary to top the league on points. The one time they've won the league in the last 20 years was because they were an absolute machine with one of the best defensive sides I've ever seen. They had impeccable organization and chemistry.

I would like this but ADL is being really unbearable. I feel like the club/James could just say fck it and he goes to Atletico.

The rumors have been too quiet lately.

Problems when you do so much transfer activity in the beginning of the window

I don't understand why the club doesn't try to get Fabian Ruiz instead of Pogba. Better player with a lot less problems and less money

For the club mainly. If Manchester United suddenly moved to Newcastle, I can't imagine Newcastle residents suddenly becoming fans.

Fabian Ruiz plays for Napoli. Napoli has a dreamer of a president. A president who'd - at the first sight of interest - immediately scream "if Pogba is 160ME, Ruiz is at least double that amount". Yeah, come on now...

That and the fact that you know, Fabian is closer to the level of Ceballos than Pogba. I like Fabian and I like Ceballos but let’s not get ridiculous.
