Google translate is so great! Did they sign him on a free transfer yet? Do we have his rights or does Atlanta? Or someone else because #MLS
Lucho supposedly instagrammed a pic with him. Asad's been "liking" fans' tweets that mention DCU signing him. So..... no chance
More & more this year, I’ve realized that @LuchoAcosta94 remains a mystery to #DCU fans. They adore him, but don’t know him. So we sat down & talked openly about his childhood, #DCU glory, his PSG heartbreak and what his future holds. Hearing Luciano Acosta is getting an additional game added to his red card suspension from #DCU's match against #FCDallas. It's likely being appealed, but if that ruling holds he'll miss this Friday's match against the #NERevs and next week's til w/#FCCincy. #MLS— Pablo Iglesias Maurer (@MLSist) July 10, 2019
VAR sucks. If you watch that play in real time, it's very highly doubtful that he even knew what was happening. If you watch that play at 4 frames per second, it looks like his goal is nothing less than the agonizing death of a cursed enemy.
It's not the VAR that could very him extra games. If it was missed in game, that kinds of play would get looked at for suspension. I'm not convinced it was purposeful, but I also can see why neutrals feel sure it was. VAR isn't the issue with the possible extra suspension.
Looking at the video, I don't see how Acosta could have avoided stepping on the guy. A two-game expulsion would be excessive, IMO. On the other hand, I could easily see Rooney's original red card upheld. The diference, to me, is that Rooney's foul seemed purposeful while Acosta's was inadvertent.
I'd agree, but there are a hoard of people on Twitter telling me that Vela got a red like this with an extra game tacked on earlier this year. Makes me wonder how Ruan from Orlando got away with breaking Mora's jaw when the ball was long gone and he made no attempts to avoid the contact and if you look at the pictures of the clash, it looks like he's looking directly at where his knee was going to impact Mora. Other than the VAR debacle against Columbus, I can't remember the last time we didn't get the short end of the stick from PRO or DISCO.
The worst part about our current form is that we all know nobody involved with the team has answers to fix things. We don’t have a DP spot so we aren’t likely to find a game changer. I’m guessing our biggest move is bringing back Assad who has played one game since the mls playoffs. The Rooney window is going to close soon with nothing to show for it but increased jersey sales.
"The easy is so bad..." "How bad is it?" "It's so bad that DC united, despite tying and losing for months, are still in 2nd on points and a short hot streak from being one of the best in the east" Full disclosure: I do not expect a hot streak.
This roster is pretty talented as it is. The center of defense is average, but every else on the field we have good players relative to the teams doing well. Its up to Ben Olsen to get more from these players. Or time to get someone who can do more with these guys.
There's been breakdowns on defense that have forced us to salvage three or four ties instead of wins. Some of that is on specific defenders. Some of that is lack of pressure by our midfield to prevent the killer passes to begin with
That’s the frustrating part, we have talented guys but either they don’t fit as a puzzle or they’ve checked out. We have a solid collection of B/ fringe level guys but our prime time players took a step back which is why we are blah. We need impact players not solid B level guys.
The Forwards and Midfielders need to time their pressure exactly and very quickly. Last year we surprised some teams. This year they're ready for us, and we're slightly slower and really off on our timing: Jara was Exhibit Nbr One on Friday night.
Agree. High Press depends upon ALL of the Forwards & Mids contributing. Acosta has spent way too much time pouting.
