I appreciate all of you taking time out of your schedule to celebrate this important anniversary. Well, last year was 20 for my wife and I, 21 isn't as important, but I still appreciate it. What's that? There's another anniversary today? Founding of the country? Oh, my bad, Never mind.

The fun part of trying to plan an urban wedding (we hit year 2 this month) is trying to find the one summer weekend in this city when nothing else is going on. I did have one hotel in River North try to tell me the reason why their rates were so high that weekend we got married was because the MLS All Star game convention was going on.
This AND we got free fireworks at our wedding reception (overlooking the bay where the city did their firework show). No wedding night/firework jokes please.
I hit 21 this year. Your marriage is old enough to drink, so buy your wife a really nice bottle of wine. Or three.
She's not much of a drinker (puts her to sleep) but we did split an airplane size bottle of Jameson tonight (it came with the large bottle of Jameson I bought for the tailgate crew for Jameson Night tonight, gotta keep up the tradition even if I'm not at the game). Last year we went to Hong Kong since the traditional 20th anniversary gift is china.
