So, who is going to the Final? We should get a bunch of peeps together before the game the way we did in Brazil and Russia, and sing at the bar and then walk down to the stadium. Just a thought.
Me and the family going. Planning to tailgate, arrachera and costillas for the win. Also looking for tickets in section 213 or 214 for my sister in law and her family if anyone knows of any
Mmmm...yeah....that's gonna cost ya.....or them. Si face value estaban caros... ahora en la reventa.....
Agree, I told him to buy some before last night but he didn't, so he will be paying quite the price. Oh well, they are tremendously in a great financial position. We go to Vegas 1 or 2 times a year with them, my sister in law's husband is Ethiopian, awesome guy. Well last September we both went to Canelo fight, he loves boxing too, and I had gotten my wife and I tickets to see Alejandro Fernandez right after the fight at Mandalay. Wife and I always go when Alejandro is there that weekend, they never join us since he doesn't know Spanish, well this time my sister in law said last minute she really wanted to go, so he had to get on Stub Hub to buy them and he paid quite the price to sit there all concert long on his phone since he didn't understand a word....ha
easy there boy, learning a new language isn't that easy especially to the point where one would fully understand to enjoy a concert. El que no debe mamar eres tu. It's not like he is Italian and can easily learn Spanish. He native tongue is Ethiopian.
I'm thinking Araujo needs to start final. I'd like to see this Memo Gallardo Araujo Salcedo Navarro Guardado JDS Gutiérrez Alvarado Pizzarro Raul Is Erick healthy yet to play?
Mark Twain said "History doesn't repeat itself but it does rhyme." It wasnt during an "A team" Gold Cup but I'm kind of reminded of the 09 Gold Cup. In it Mexico called up a lot of what at the time were fringe players for their first major tournament. The main US team was at the Confederations Cup so their line up was mostly fringe players as well. Some very similar things happened they faced Haiti and Costa Rica in the knock out rounds and Vasco Aguirre served a suspension, not for yellows like Tata but for tripping a Panamanian player. Also, Mexico was for from convincing that tournament, they only managed to beat Nicaragua and Guadeloupe by two goals in the group stage. In the final they ended up putting five goals in one half against the US team. As long as Mexico shuts down Pulisic and stays tight defensively we should be all right. The US defense is sluggish and I could see guys like Antuna and Pizarro burning players on the wings. I personally don't want the fullbacks to attack too recklessly but I would rather have them contest the midfield and press the US defense and midfield since their passing can be bad at times and were giving the ball away a lot.
Yeah but if we are going about history repeating itself, the only time Mexico has lost a Gold Cup final against the US, it was on Soldier Field in 2007- That cup also had a lot of coincidences like Mexico opening playing against Cuba and facing Costa Rica in the QF's and needing ET to beat them. The last time the final was played in the Soldier Field, the US also won although against Panama in the final. Maybe they should have chosen another venue for the final.
I didn't get a ticket. And they're in my backyard.. And my back channels failing me.. I like to fiesta.. Borracho y loco.. 250 on the low low.. Thats steep! Thats a lot of tortas de tamal.
This IS their World Cup final, so you know they’re going in hard. They’ve got such a hard on for us...they’ll play their best game of the tournament but it still won’t be enough to beat the back-up squad.
Bring it. We need these high pressure games to see what Tata is made of, let's see what kind of strategy he comes up with. The more we are exposed to these kinds of games the better.
Should be a good game for our players. The only thing I’m concerned about is our backups. Guardado can’t play all game and I don’t want to see Montes anywhere near the field on Sunday. He’s a turnover just waiting to happen with his lack of size and speed.
This Mexico Gold Cup team doesn’t really have any players capable of creating dangers “out of nowhere”, like Tecatito/Lozano/Herrera. Maybe just Raul. Too many two-dimensional players. Last game made my eyes hurt. Maybe they’re exhausted (two back to back overtime games). I still think we will beat the nads.
