http://worldsoccertalk.com/2013/08/06/fox-officially-says-goodbye-to-sky-sports-news-under-new-plan/ The basturds eff Fox, Bad news, well for everyone but Naughty, plan changed no more Sky Sports in America, that means no more daily Kirsty Gallagar, time to riot
cool, I like watching both Three choices here, Dish dropped Gol does not have NBC overflow;, Comcast dropped Gol, does not have NBC overflow this market, despite saying they hd both when I asked and switched; and I heard Direct dropped Gol but for the Spanish version, which they are dropping soon, they do have NBC overflow though, I might switch to them next month, but they did not have NBC extra or overflow last month when I switched to comcast, and now they have it and do it best ??? enough whinging, starting to sound like Lambert...
NBC owns comcast, so when it comes to the NBC stuff they'll likely be the best. for example, i dropped the extra tier that had fox soccer because i didn't need it anymore, their tier below had NBC sports. what the does mean though is less soccer overall as it's obviously not a dedicated channel. so that's a little frustrating. really my one complaint though, and admittidly it's a pretty big one in my opinion, is there are no online replays of the games like foxsoccer2go had. so there is really no way to go back and watch some of the lesser games that i wasn't able to record on tv. also, i got used to being able to pull it up on my phone or tablet and watch instead of being tied to the tv. 21st century problems?
Is there any way to watch Transfer Deadline Day now, like we used to be able to watch Jim White and Sky Sports News on Fox Soccer?
quick revive of this thread, i have been playing the game for a while of finding the right solution for me for seeing games and other content. i went with direct tv now when it launched, got an apple tv for free and got in the early adopters beta program and was told my pricing would never change $35/mo with the "go big" package. it was all i ever needed. then NBC locked games in the gold account so i needed that too. $60/season. directvnow went back on their promise and started raising my prices so eventually i had enough and cancelled. i thought i'd still get NBC gold season pass for the premier league but same games are only available through NBC sports package, NOT with gold. just got a renewal notice for gold and it says "new this year - get even MORE premier league with all 380 matches on-demand, plus, exclusive content from sky sports." so i'm not sure if there will be any live restrictions but it looks like if all you want is soccer (that's me, everything else is plex or netflix pretty much) then BNC gold season pass may be all you actually need.
On demand is another word for tape delay. I'd guess they have a portion of live games and the rest available later in the day. Not enough replacement value for me as like to watch us play live when possible
Sling is about as good as it gets and then adding Gold seems pretty reasonable. Sling is $40. Pretty cheap in the grand scheme of things.
Found the latest terms and matches available at 9pm est. That's a hard pass for me, unfortunately will have to maintain a core subscription for live games. Darn.
The content from the PL is really good. You can also watch the Debate on YouTube for free which is from Sky Sports. It's all great content.
ah, thanks for the fine detail. i hate that you have to pay for two different services from the same company to get all the games live. it's such a blatant money grab.
Good to know. Will check that out. My desire to watch discussions around football closely matches the mood I'm in from watching our latest match
It's a lot of the usual Liverpool is amazing dross but there is really a lot of quality PL content and players talking about past matches etc. The Debate is so good on SS. They have Emma on regularly and her and Liam Rosenior are the absolute best for content. Rosenior is real quality on TV.
Liam played for Brighton last but he's retired now. Believe he works in their academy. Leroy is his Dad. He's seriously really good on TV.

It was too good to be true, 11 quid for all the pre-season matches live in England or 2 quid each on app with only 3 I think available globally https://www.chelseafc.com/en/news/2019/07/09/chelsea-pre-season-fixtures-2019-2020--how-to-watch
geez how much they going to make to blow a chance and opportunity for goodwill and brand building after last year and the Transfer ban
Pretty disappointing. Pre-season friendlies are at best barely watchable events played at half speed, tough to imagine there is much to monetize here and only three for non-UK folks is especially weak. There's also value beyond goodwill - they could drive a lot of new traffic to the app (using myself as an example, I don't have the app but would have installed it to watch the matches and likely would have stuck around if they'd show cased other features during this period). Feels like an own goal for sure. FWIW the Barca game will be on ESPN2, albeit at stupid o'clock in the morning.
