Seems like Chelski have to seal the Kova deal by 6/30 so we’ll know soon one way or the other. Transfer ban is forcing their hand. I was a big fan of the player but it’s a good sale at the rumored price.

Midfield conundrum really is fascinating/worrying. Not interested in van de Beek personally. We need someone more dynamic. Fede will bring some hustle and physicality on occasion but we need something else.

I know we've already discussed SL, and that you were right on that, but still be careful of SL. They announced Deal Done for De Ligt at PSG. And now they seek every excuses they can to explain why it didn't happen. They also announced Maxwell was leaving PSG, and it turned out false too.

Call deal done only when it's official IMO.

We better not even ask about Van De Beek. Seriously.

 

Especially considering the crazy fee for Van De Beek. Would make more sense to use the funds on Ndombele, shame we didn’t show interest in wanting him though.

 

IMO Zizou said quite clear 'give me Pogba'. those Eriksen,Ndombele other were just media rumors Plan B,C or else.

 

When? I’m sure he probably said somewhere that he “liked” the player when asked, As far as I am concerned it’s all media rumors at this point

 

The club wants Eriksen. I dont know about Ndombele

 

IMO no. Just my opinion of course but Pogba would be ideal type of player for this Zizou team, just ideal. Himself he stated would be open for new challenges. But of course in real life everyone can happen as we saw with high price that so Eriksen was named plan B.

 

The only thing that keeps my panties from bunching from the vd Beek rumors, is that I don't really think this is a guy that Zidane would go after and that hopefully it's all a ruse to get a better price on other midfield prospects.

 

But surely the perfect combo is Pogba AND Ndombele?

Hopefully whenever the terms get sorted out we can just move in and offer the same deal and get it done instantly.

It kind of makes sense if we are doing a full clear out and upgrading our bench from Isco, Ceballos, Llorente, James, Kova to Ndombele, Van de Beek, and Eriksen.


I like the player although he doesn't really stand out from players we already have but it seems Zidane just plain doesn't like the guys on our team and so he will take anyone else as alternatives.

 

Van de Beek drastically decreases chances of that group being considered as upgrade over IscoDisco, Ceballos, Llorente , James and Kova. He should be considered as a >30M squad player and not an upgrade.

I have sinking feeling about midfield situation for 19/20. It is likely, we will effectively weaken it even further instead of improving it. I really hope Zizu sees beyond Pogba and pulls out a magic card. Because if not, it seems Modrić, Kroos and Casemiro are back at the helm and i don`t like it.

 

Ndombele + Erikssen would be dream

 

I’m not saying VdB is my top pick or even in the vicinity. I’m saying that I believe that VdB would only come if we also signed pogba. I would not mind pogba and VdB as our midfield purchases, independently of wether Ceballos, Llorente, James, Isco and or Kova leave the club or not. I or course believe there are better options, but I would be ok with that mid.

He was really good as part of a midfield three for Dinamo in Europa, but didn't see much more of him.

Terrible passer though and loses the ball more than Isco.
