So it’s being rumored he didn’t have illegal limits of alcohol in his system and was going around 40 mph

This might have been a freak accident

There were reports that he was going crazy fast, but in the video it didn't look that fast.

    Hard to know wtf happens

Could’ve been distracted and reared them, they could’ve changed lanes at the last second in this Clip

    Hard to tell

Heard the same, it’s also being said the couple didn’t have seatbelts on. Judging from the scene photos, that may be true.

I’ve seen plenty of camaros crash at near 100 mph. They crumble and rip into pieces. I doubt he was traveling over 100mph, specially in a v4 or v6 camaro.

Still, seems like he’ll be charged with homicide.

What an incredibly shitty story. What a fcking pity for all involved.

If only there was a video that showed the moment of impact rather than when the crash had already taken place.

I also saw on tv that the father of the woman(?) was saying that accident took place around 9 (pm?) but Joao wasn't tested for alcohol levels until about 1 or 2. He argues that this is sufficient time for blood alcohol to go down.

Either way, who drives while drunk? Fvcking dumbass.

If he gets off, he should be revoked of his license. If he wants to play football again, he needs to become an advocate against drunk driving. It’s the way things work now-a-days. I just hope the family doesn’t come looking for more money later on if they settle (a la CR7)

So many factors figure in this crash situation. Would be better to see what court evidence has because as has been already stated by other members here, that doesn't look like it was night time and more like morning so the factor of whether Joao was impaired due to alcohol or other factors the night before needs much more investigation. How were the road conditions? Potholes? Construction? Pedestrian darting into street? A lot of things unclear still to draw solid conclusions.

My guess is, Malecks lawyer knows his client was under the legal limit, his client may have been driving wreckless, the people that died were not wearing seatbelts, and prepared an offer for the family to accept to avoid the possibility of things getting messy in court. The problem is, in Mexico you’re guilty and need to prove your innocence.

I used to think that was only in Mexico, but when you look at it closer that seems to be the case in the US (cash bail issue especially) when the mainstream media gets involved. In this instance some in the Mexican mainstream media also seems to hit the same cues as over here with the way they're reporting this story and already sentencing the kid.

I'll also add, did the couple Joao hit have there seat belts on? Again more evidence is needed, perhaps it was over 40 mph for it to cause these severe of results. When I saw the video I thought it was a Honda and those things crumple like tin foil at the slightest hits, but it appears to be a Chevy.

bro, that shit wasnt under 40 miles. Dude is ramming them and the brakes arent even applied. I mean if he gets off more power to him, but its clear he was at fault and I would say altered in some way. You dont just hit another car and keep you foot down on the accelerator.
Plus look at how empty the street are, this is obviously at a time while most people are still asleep.
