I wonder if it is because they weren't releasing him for any YNT camps?

So had to be on an academy contract where he didn't get paid anything

You can be on a Liga MX matchday roster without a paying contract?

I obviously have no inside knowledge but this gives me an eerie Zach Pfeffer vibe.

Never mind it’s been officially announced that he is playing for the college, I thought there was no way he was still an amateur. This has to be one of the most impressive recruitments I’ve seen.

Seems like an obvious choice, although it makes you question why not this year. Tab always seemed to rate him highly, presumably he could make a few calls.

I hope he hits the ground running... Reyes is smart it would’ve been incredibly tough to break into Monterrey’s team. Not only are they very good but also a very expensive team. He must be keeping tabs on what young guys in MLS are doing

Where? (I assume you mean by the player, but I haven't seen anything from the school.)

No, you are right, I was referring to his Instagram post. I spoke to fast.

Well, this seems basically official, since it's from the coach, a fellow hyphenated-American.

Having a good run with the U20s:

Jacobo Reyes (@jacoboreyes00) with @Rayados #Sub20 in their last encounters:

He scored in the Classic Regio.
    Scored in the Quarterfinals.
    Scored in Semifinals.

Very key piece, he took the role of protagonist and has fulfilled. Tremendous player.
