Dude, this is f'n stupid. Seriously, RBL doesn't care how the USNT employs Adams. You're completely off your rocker. If you suggested they didn't want him to play because they still worry about his injury I could think that's reasonable, but to suggest they don't want a healthy player to play a different position because it will affect his ability to play the position they want him to play is just moronic.

and he was the only players who stepped up when things got chippy and notice how the game turned after he clearly took a few of them out of the match mentally

If you think Balboa is bad doing announcing in English, you should listen to him to the Spanish language broadcasts (if you know enough Spanish to do so).

Saw highlights and good effort all around.

Concern is that this game makes MB looks like he still has it and he doesn't. Every country falls into the square peg trap of lionizing a player then he becomes impossible to drop and this it.

The Legend of EL Burro grows. The guy is a rich man's Jeff Cunningham and poor man's Roy Lassiter.

This was a team the US should have beaten. Failing to do so previously doesn't mean we have accomplished anything and only makes the previous loss more shocking.

I don't see this squad making it to the finals. Sorry to bust the bubble but nothing about this team says fortitude.

It is amazing how good the team looks when we play a standard 4-3-3, (not a 4-1-4-1 as listed, the wide attackers were very high up the pitch), with no gimmick system and zero attempts at tactical genius.

Weston channeling his inner Jermaine Jones set the tone for our play in the center of the park. Pulisic off the dribble in space is a world class weapon. Zardes' work-rate continues to be very important much like it was at Copa100.

Hopefully GB will continue to keep it straightforward and select the fight players and put them in the right situations to be successful.

Guyana FIFA 177 out the way, T&T FIFA92 destroyed, time to bring onPanama FIFA 65 for the final tune up!

OK, so who do you think is the odds on favorite to make it to the finals out of the bottom half of the draw? It's got to be one of US, Panama, Jamaica, El Salvador or Curacao.

IMO only Panama and Jamaica could derail the US. I'm not that impressed by either so far in the tournament. Our results have been better, and as compared to Panama that's significant because we've played the same teams. Then again, Panama and Jamaica have both played us very tough in this tournament in recent editions, so I'm always wary of both. For me the major question is whether the US can keep/improve the form it showed in the last game. That version of the US could beat any side, even Mexico. But if they regress to the crap-bag form they showed in the friendlies or earlier GCs, then it could be ugly.

This is pure truth. His Spanish is not good and his analysis is about as bad. I've been a Univision guy since World Cup 2002 but he tempts me to go English.

Jamaica is quietly building the best generation of players since the WC making group. They are not as flash but they are consistent and have good chemistry. This re-invented 3CB backline of Gregg's will get tested and I am not sure they know how to deal with being rattled let alone if they go down by a goal.

Interesting. After 2015 semis and the friendly this year I am no longer surprised if the US loses to Jamaica. That said, Jamaica was not one of the more impressive teams in the CONCACAF nations cup this year--despite being seeded #1 ended up in League B, and qualified for the GC behind teams like Bermuda and Cuba. I would have figured they'd have run the table. But yeah, I suspect US v Jamaica is the likely semi, and if so it'll be an interesting game.

The biggest thing this Trinidad game showed was that the US is capable of fighting. They didn't fight in the Friendlies. Boyd was the only one who really showed much desire vs. Guyana.

But against Trinidad, the entire team played hard. Once that happened, we created a ton of chances, and the 6-0 scoreline flattered Trinidad. Nobody on our side of the bracket has had a similarly-lopsided game where they comprehensively outplayed their opponent.

Panama struggled with Trinidad in the first game. They let Guyana score 2 in the second game, and still rely on some very old, key players. Jamaica squeaked out a win against a pretty dire Honduras side at home, and played El Salvador to a boring draw. El Salvador looked beatable against Curacao in a 1-0 victory. Curacao presumably won't make it, but they won't sneak up on anyone if they do.

We should beat all of these teams comprehensively. And the Trinidad game is a data point that suggests that Berhalter might be able to do that.

That was my problem with him yesterday. Was trying to do a lot himself, but just looked out of sync with everyone else on the field. Somehow that's Gregg's fault though I'm sure.

They dropped their last game at El Salvador. Hardly the worst offense. We had to have Frankie bail us out last time we played down there IIRC.

I thought the “America are you not entertained?” quote was stupid. For god’s sake we should be able to beat a risk taking T&T team.

At the same time I was abashedly thinking, well yeah, I am entertained. The team was fun to watch in the second half, finally playing as a unit and aggressively attacking. Yeah, sure, it was because they were playing a week opponent, but entertaining nevertheless.
