Seriously? That’s the evidence to support your ludicrous claim? Let me know when someone from the coaching staff or management team suggests Adams playing defense for the NT is an issue and not some kid running their US-aimed social media account questioning why he's a defender.
Unfortunately, I think US soccer is in a real slide to the bottom and we aren't even close to hitting it yet. Maybe when Curacao winds up getting better results than us at this "gold plated" cup we can see some real change.
Take it up with FIFA. Dual nationals, especially teenager's shouldn't be bound simply by playing once for one of the other nations they can represent.
Sure, in the end he might not be all that. But against the teams he's played so far, he's outshone most of his teamates. Your issue should be with the development system in America, not the USNT playing the best Americans they can find.
Miazga over-committed way too far upfield and challenged Rondon for a header, which he lost, which led to a goal. He was responsible in large part for that goal.
It's almost as if announcers are paid to help people enjoy the sporting events people are watching. You guys see conspiracy in what is typical sports announcing. Only here could I find people who think announcers should be denigrating the product their employer is selling as it occurs. I'm amazed.
Up 3-0 the proper response from Strong/Holden is complaining about Puli not being played on the wing, of course.
@TOAzer Yeah, I guess. I'm assuming you don't disagree with me that that's where vikingito's problem should lie though. But really it's stupid because Boyd is American and vikingito has suggested he's not American and should not play because he already played for NZ.
And either way, as unhinged as his posts are, viking is right that we should probably wait to crown him until he plays against some decent competition. After all, we looked better once we subbed him out last night.
One, it's first first division football in Turkey, which is a better overall league than MLS. Second, regardless of where we SHOULD be in US Soccer's evolution, Boyd is clearly one of our best winger options. There aren't better players in our development system from what I can see. Feel free to list them.
To be honest, I've been disappointed with our wingers for over a decade now. It doesn't help that some of our most exciting prospects over that time period in any position have been wingers who ultimately failed to fulfill their early promise (e.g., Shea or Rogers). We've sometimes papered over that issue by using more centrally-minded players nominally out wide, but we've also had to start wingers with far less pedigree than most of the other players starting alongside them.* So I'll probably be satisfied if Boyd turns out to be a Zusi level player, rather than a Damarcus Beasley. *Pulisic is obviously the big exception here, but if we're intent on playing him centrally, then we still have two spots to fill without many great options.
But he's not just not crowning him (and I agree, the jury should still be out). He's said we should play Americans as if Boyd isn't American. He's also said he shouldn't play since he played for NZ.
Do you think RB Leipzig doesn't vet their accounts? If they disagreed with the statement it would have been deleted. It is from their official site, and is dated June 6. I found it on their site today. It is a tactful way of questioning the use of Adams without having one manager insult another. And if you bothered to pay attention, you would see that the timing of that post was just before Adams "injury" was discovered. Ludicrous is the one who thinks that RB Leipzig is friendly to the notion that their future central pillar is helped by a national team coach who keeps trying to force him into being a rightback.
