We had the vets to get a result. Dax and Benny were on that roster and should have started.

Good point and I'll add that while most were looking down and laughing at the CNL qualifiers those games were actually the true Gold Cup preparation and revealed how improved some of them actually became.

Playing more often and away really helped them figure themselves out, improved and actually implement a vision and polish tactics. While reading posts about how surprised people were at the improvements of smaller nations, those who watch CNL qualifiers weren't.

Canada has been terrible playing away games but CNL forced the team to learn how win on the road and overcome hostile environment. We had a game on an atrocious pitch in the Caribbean and the coach had the team practice on an ever worse pitch so they get used to the bad conditions and ended up winning that game.

Away games are a crucial part of the game and the US plays far too much at home. Imagine how much more dominant the USMNT would be if they played more away game and won them...

That's why CONCACAF must find a way to have the tournament of of the US.

I think it went beyond that when you tried to change what you said and make it look like I was saying something that I wasn't

Yes, the great Dax McCarty. That would've done it.

He was past his best by that point. I would have called Frei or the KC guy. Hell, I would have been happy to take KC's CBs and GK.

A fresh Dax in 2017 is definitely a better defender than tired Bradley.

I'm not a Bradley hater but I wanted Dax starting that game.

    Perhaps we have the following.

Some have been mad at Bradley since a mixed performance at WC 2014.
Others have been mad at Bradley since poor performance in the first couple of matches of the Hex.
Others have been mad at Bradley since Couva.
Others have been mad at Bradley since his refusal to take any responsibility for his play at Couva.

Others have been mad at Bradley since Mikey Lionized himself.
Others have been mad at Bradley for his steady decay as a player for his club in MLS since 2017.
Others have been mad at Bradley for his steady decay as a player for the USMNT during and since 2017.
Others have been mad at Bradley for showing as little respect for the good of the USMNT as he has great respect for his ubi mea.
Others have been mad at Bradley for the damage done to restructuring the team in the name of making primary preserving Mikey's role.
And surely others have a huge variety of reasons, from pulling Sally's hair in grade 2 to having him snatch the last poutine at @Burgatory when they were next in line, to be mad at him.

For myself, the bolded part is as close to having me get mad at Bradley as there is. Although disappointment better captures it. Much of what is on the list above is not in Mikey's hands, at all, it is the terrible force that is Time and Chance.
I suspect that most posters here critical of Bradley's play these last few years are not really mad at him. We understand the brevity of being in your physical prime, and we understand that for some it ends sooner than others. and we understand loving being the player--of whatever level-- and bearing unnatural hope you can resurrect yourself [think of Gerrard, think of Adu,think of Edilson], and we understand wanting to prolong everything as long as possible, and we understand the temptation [not that it is available for ourselves] to call upon influential family and friends to give you yet another chance, yet another round, yet another Cup.

I think that most posters here who are critical of Bradley are mad at the USSF's leadership.
The current situation with this team, with Bradley's role in it, is a symptom of the rot. It is certainly not a cause.

And that, ultimately, is why we are seeing so much of the likes of Office Space.

Fox also has the Bundesliga rights and Holden is usually in-studio for the Champions League games on TNT. So if he's some kind of inside man he still has enough leeway to actively participate in the promotion of rival products to MLS.

Again, that's not what was said.

He said a good GK makes that save.

Dax McCarty was actually on good form during WCQ.

I'm sure that giving an ucapped player in his 30s his first cap in a must have game in WCQ would've been greeted warmly.

I am not going to flame you. I am going to flame CGB! The fact that is possibly the best lineup is a total and utter tragedy! Gonzo or Ream almost have to start! That is crazy talk!

Not carrying Weah, Richards, CCV, Sargent and Adams, Lleget, getting hurt has me worried me. Will CGB continue with his MLS blue collar but not talented enough lineups until he gets fired? There are some injuries but CGB fancies me like a "loyalty guy" where he relies on the Reams, Arriolas, Roldans, Gonzos till death do us part. Hope I am wrong.

His fascination with Adams at rt back and preferring Zardes as his first choice 9 tells me all I need to know. Guy is WAY over his head!

Chris Richards, an 18-year-old that's so unaccomplished that he doesn't even have a wikipedia page, is the answer.

As is Cameron Carter Vickers, a guy who plays for a mid-table English Championship club and has accomplished exactly squat so far in his career.

Pulisic, Gonzalez, Altidore, Bradley were on the squad that lost in Couva.
TNT are playing with 4/6 same defenders (DM's and backs) tonight.
We're not as good as that USMNT that lost 2-1 to TNT.
Berhalter is no better and probably worse than Arena.
Don't take for granted that we may lose again.

Also, if you think Zardes is his first choice 9 then you don't pay any attention to what's going on.

I hate when I'm reading through a thread and it gets to the point where @OfficeSpace takes up half of each page.

I certainly won't forget this post.

Were you also unsure that we would beat Guyana and get out of the group, as others here were?

Unlike Couva, we are playing on home soil. I hope, also, that unlike Couva the team is clear eyed about the need to try its damndest. I would be very very surprised if this game was a draw. I do expect a solid victory [by at least two goals]. If I'm wrong, then I will have learnt that I was not cynical enough, Cynical US fan.....;)

Yes, he objectively did but you would have to actually read the posts in this thread and understand them to know that.

This is what he said first.

Then when presented with the facts, he responded to me by changing what he said.

He goes from saying that the team underwhelmed throughout to then saying that it was a poor result and that I was defending that poor result.

Not true at best and a lie at worst.
