Messi scores with the penalty and it's 1-1.

And Argentina gives up a penalty ironically lol.

BLOCKED! What a fun game in the second half! Still 1-1!

I turned it off after they screwed Paraguay 2x in 5 minutes.... I am going to assume Argentina will get another PK or 15 extra minutes in the 2nd half until they score. If Paraguay score Var will then say its offsides regardless if its not

Guys I don't know how to say this but the VAR was right about taking away the penalty from us against Qatar; I REALLY wanted to find a mistake on their end but I can't seem to get a frame-perfect indication on the replays that it did touch the arm.

And in this one the arm did hit the defender before hitting the post.

So VAR has not been wrong throughout this tournament. At least not like in the women's world cup from what I've been hearing.

Second place isn't looking so bad now....Brazil would have a breeze with all of the tougher opponents on our side....

Brazil doesn't look that impressive no one does

Might change my mind after 2nd game from Uruguay but they have a easy group

Would Queiroz rest the team and give the subs a chance against Paraguay?

Looking at it, he might have to use at least 2 of his starters:

    ------Vargas/Montero
    Arias--Zapata-Lucumi--Borja
    --------Cuellar-Lerma
    Diaz----------------Cardona
    -----Duvan---Roger

I would like to see Medina start again - primarily for confidence reasons. Then sub in Arias duirng 2nd half.

He seemed timid against Qatar with all his back passing. I want to say I saw him do a couple nice crosses using his left foot in prior friendlies. He seemed totally hesistant to cut Inside and use the left foot to move the ball.

I think Ospina should play in 3rd game. Even against qatar, it was like a night off for him. I would think he should play in order to stay sharp.

    Otherwise I love the lineup

    That is an option.

Diaz would probably float toward the left while Roger would probably float toward the right as he did yesterday with some nice crosses.

Falcao can start since he did not play much yesterday. Duvan could be more valuable coming off the bench ending Paraguay's dreams.

I agree on paper it looks weak.
You just never know in these competitions though. We have seen teams underachieve in the Group stage as third places and make it all the way to the Final.

Just cause something looks like a weak bracket does not mean it will play out that way.

Still a slim chance if Uruguay loses their next two games.
Then wake up and win the next two games as Colombia takes care of business.;)

But yes, it looks like Colombia and Uruguay are not going to face in the Final barring some strange set of circumstances.

Is this really the same team that lost to Chile 4-0 a few days ago? What a difference! HT.
