I believe in ecto-endo-mesomorph theory from my own experience and fom seeing the people around me. I know how to count calories but it's really not the same for all of us. Marcelo lacked motivation and drive last season just like every other player in the squad except for Odriozola, Raguilon and Vinicius. He just didn't care. Now there's a 50 mil € player here and he knows he better get serious or get benched. Looking so fit during a holiday is a good sign.
You're some fat ass with internet access. I was an actual professional athlete who had to live the life. Put me on ignore. That way you don't have to cry about anymore of my posts. TIA
Hahahaha. You are not the only person who has played sport. And by the look of it, the only one doing any crying here is you. Go ahead and follow your own advice. I have no intention of getting into a pissing contest with anyone. Personal attacks are very childish. Discuss the players, team, sport etc. Leave my so called fat ass with internet access out of this.
You don't have the desire but you went out of your way to quote and me about something you know absolutely nothing about. If we wanted expertise on gorging oneself or randoming insulting someone then crying foul when they return the favor we would ask you.
How much I eat or what I look like doesn't change the point I made about Marcelo, his weight loss and my hope his form improves. Call me names all you want. The point is I called you out on a statement you made and you are upset and the only response you have is to name call.
******** out of here. You didn't know what you were talking about and you shouldn't have even entered the conversation, talk much take a shot at me. Don't cry when I shoot back.
There's a lot of psychology involved. A lot of people feel the urge to eat/cheat on their diet more after heavy excercise. Apparently Marcelo was registered at 80 kg at 174 cm, which is quite a load to carry around. If it's a muscular build it's a huge achievement as far as i'm concerned. In comparison, Jordi Alba is apparently 68 kg at 170 cm. Which is a far more normal weight/height ratio for a football player.
I don't know how much Marcelo weighs now but he definitely looks a lot more in shape than he did during the season. Just looking at his size, he looks a lot more like the Marcelo pre 18/19 season. I am glad he has worked on his weight. Now to see if he can rediscover the form that made him one of the best left backs.
Working out increases your metabolism which naturally increases your desire to consume. When you are doing such intense workouts your ability to burn carbs is sky high. When you aren't participating in such activities for a long period of time or even retire you still may have the lingering desire/habit to consume a lot. However without your metabolism in high gear this backfires. I know you're smarter than that idiot so you know better than to assume because the guy posts a picture of himself with abs it means he is in great sporting shape. It's one of the most overblown things ever.
At the end of the day every person is different, and i only know myself and my body. I'm stunned at how some people can't drop weight, but to be honest i usually feel like it's a matter of discipline/cutting habbits that are bad for you.
It's all about discipline. I have friends and ex-teammates who have retired and they have gained massive weight. I on the other hand have cut down a little and kept much of a workout regimen. With Marcelo there isn't anything that proves he is in better shape. Playing shape is very different than "looking good" anyways. You also don't want your body fat too low when you're doing high intensity because it can lead to more fatigue, dehydration, etc... it's a balance. Just posting a picture of abs doesn't make you optimum playing shape. It doesn't equate to better performance.
Fairly obvious what's happened here. Marcelo got a little lazy last season, lost fitness and gained weight. After reflecting on the situation he's been working out harder than ever (he's never been a gym rat with a six pack) and now that the results are starting to show he was super excited to show off on social media. I also think the off season gives players a lot of extra time to work on little things that make the difference to give you muscle tone and definition. Obviously in Marcelo's case even when he was playing he was just standing around and not really getting much of a workout, didn't need recovery time but he had already traded in the training ground for a buffet somewhere.
I agree with you that abs don't equate to playing shape but you have to agree one of Marcelo's downfalls last season was excess weight. He was fat. He has worked to remedy that and that's a good 1st step to getting into proper playing shape. Playing shape will come during preseason when the players actively work on that but I will applaud Marcelo for cutting his weight down, more so in the off season.
I started improving my diet last year by dropping all drinks and drinking only water and mineral water, eating more healither overall, and in the one year i've been doing it i gained a lot of weight. Went to my doctor but he didn't have an explanation. I met one of my friends who's a kickboxing coach and he told me to go see a thyroid doctor and do the blood test for it. My blood test for the thyroid gland was so bad it reached the max on the machine, they didn't believe it and they had to do it twice. The doctor diagnosed me with Hashimoto's disease and explained to me how that makes weight cut almost impossible without the medication. So there's that ...
Yeah we're talking under regular circumstances obviously. I'm not telling a disabled man "I can't imagine how you can't get up and walk" either.
I know but my point was that i myself didn't know i was suffering from that and that's the reason i couldn't lose weight and many other people could have something like that too, without them knowing. Same goes for gaining weight.
Many other people in reality is small percentage of the "chunky" sample. The majority is due to shitty life style - poor diet, lack of active life style, stress, ..etc...
Any body worried about Marcelo returning & being an undisputed starter? We know at this point his defense is pretty poor. I think Mendy has to start all big games & then we can bring in Marcelo in the 60th minute if we need offense. Let marcelo start la Liga games against the bottom half teams...
