Before the tournament started, I really thought Tonali would have been the anchor with Mandragora as a DM, Barella as a mezzala.

It would be really tough to win this group if we don't win this one or at least draw

It's concerning that we can dominate like this and potentially lose.

Can't do much when a team completely parks the bus, looks like they're running out of ideas.

really disappointing to see Poland join Spain with their play acting and rolling around on the ground

Another effort like this and Di Biagio is out of a job. It's hard to blame him, really, where the attack and midfield was so poor. Mandragora and Pellegrini both missed absolute sitters. We're not getting enough from Barella and the strikers either who have to be absolutely dominant at this level. I hope Di Biagio isn't stupid enough to sit Kean next match.

I mean we completely dominated the game. It's hard to put this on anyone..........

they just took their chance and scored and we couldn't convert.

But that is our problem because we lacked the ingenuity to engineer clear chances in front of goal - too many crosses and too much playing in straight lines.

Not enough intricate moves to open up the Poland defence.

only one i'd fault him for is taking off Orsolini... i get you are putting Kean in.. but for me I would have done Kean for Cutrone.

Never a negative comment when these other teams pull a bunker or play act. If Italy hints, the English bobble heads start to foam at the mouth.

I’d like to know what the Tonali sub was trying to accomplish. Almost thought we switched to a back 5 at times.

The players will have to overcome Di Biaggio again against Belgium, and again and again to go all the way.

He wanted to keep Cutrone on the field to be a traditional target man. Battle with the Polish cb's. In theory it wasn't a bad decision. In hindsight, it would have been better to have Kean on because the incoming crosses were shit anyway. Orsolini was playing well in the first half.

Because Tonali is a better passer than Mandragora and we needed a more creative player to open up the midfield

Yeah then Kean held on to the ball for to much. Though I did not catch the last 20 min so perhaps things changed.
