I look forward to seeing all the infrastructure and youth development academies the NISA teams invest in with the money they save.

When you go to the NISA's official website (http://www.nisaofficial.com/ ) and look at the bottom, it lists the league office as:

    (833) SOCCER1
    750 B Street, Suite 3220, San Diego, CA 92101

Which, funny enough, is the same exact address (same suite # too) for the office of a small, solo-practicing, immigration lawyer.

Also why would the league offices be on the west coast when 75% of the teams are on the east coast?

I don't even know who 75% of the franchises are, but I think the guy who drew the short straw/ended up running the show was in San Diego, wasn't he? (And it was a different guy, I thought.)

Oh, if that happens, they are well and truly screwed. Driver couldn't organize a trip to 7-11.

I really hope they plan on pushing the start back to next year. It’s going to be disastrous if they try to get this thing up and running for September.

Unless they were further along than people know and that lack of knowledge and awareness is why the leadership change?

    We can only wish...

If we're going to be seeing a mass exodus of NPSL clubs going to USL League Two and League One, that pretty much screws over the NISA and Founders Cup.

Like I always say: The NPSL is (largely) for people who are not quite ambitious enough to be in the PDL (League Two).

And it is simply not possible for there to be a mass exodus of NPSL teams to USLL1. The vast majority of NPSL teams would have zero chance of being professional, even D3 professional.

But if USL is targeting certain markets to try and cut the NISA off at the knees, they would not be the first league to do so. The NFL and AFL both did it during their war.

Not saying it's likely to work - we have limited data on USL v Insert League Here head-to-heads. (OKC=won, Tampa Bay=lost, then got the market anyway, Chattanooga=too early to tell, but I would not have done it as the opportunity was not great or necessary.)

But having won the war against the NASL in large part because the NASL tripped on its own dick, and just based on what we know about the NISA, they may be deploying armaments they don't need to deploy in a war where one side has slingshots.

San Diego and Providence (which I assume is the other NISA city mentioned) feel far less SoccerWarz than they seem an obvious eventuality.

Obvious in that the USL team will thrive and the other team will be a historical footnote. Donovan alone assures that.

Oakland bailed on the Founders Cup and joined the NISA.

They may have been needed to replace San Diego, who I have heard exists only on paper at this point.

1904? Yeah they’ve up and vanished like a fart in a hurricane. Albion seems to be quietly chugging along in the Founders Cup.

    That's funny.

The NISA (71 days to kickoff, boys and girls) still lists San Diego as a market on its website.

Yeah... unless they have some magic stadium that’ll appear in that timeframe, and a team to play in it, not bloody likely.
