Where's VAR when you need it? Our team is pretty depleted and not very skillful but we played hard. Atlanta's backline was terrified when the footing got bad. The defense sucked. Kempin either didn't call Artur off the ball he was about to pick up or Artur is an idiot. He cleared it out unnecessarily, giving Atlanta the corner kick they scored on. Passing the ball around our backline with our backup players isn't a good idea. Got a grouchy at least.
Left my damn phone at home. So the 30 minute weather delay kind of sucked even more. At least the delay was at 74:24; they didn’t shut doen the beer sales!![emoji16]
A few observations: (Note: I may or may not have had soem alcohol since getting back home). 1) Mullins is a hack. 2) Afful seemed to still have a good motor, but he still can’t cross. 3) For being old and having had knee surgery, Sauro had some speed and closed some things down. 4) Crognale has potential 5) JJ Williams is a big guy. He can play a physical game in the box. 6) Kempin is still > Bendik 7) The refs sucked. 8) Weather delays suck.
I had a good time. We stayed until the weather delay. I think we would have won that game with Zack Steffen. GK is a top tier need for this team. Bendik and Kempin are not MLS starting GKs.
https://www.prosoccerusa.com/mls/columbus-crew-sc/referees-accosted-after-columbus-crew-game/ If the refs thought they were treated rudely, it's a good thing they weren't here circa 2004 or so.
Are you referring to Salazar's disaster at Jesse Owens vs Dallas or the one at CCS vs the cabbies? Accam was hobbling by the end of the match but it sure looked like he was football tackled in the box at the end of the match. The ref just wanted to go home.
Crew legend not happy with fans: Because I only have love for this club and city. But the boos as I was subbing off?? 8 years for this club..... lol I won’t forget it. Thanks for the others who showed love. Good luck the rest of the way @ColumbusCrewSC 🙏🏼 #J9 https://t.co/dWHbMavDEy— Justin Meram (@JustinMeram) June 19, 2019 Way to hurt his feelings, savages.
All of the booing was for that piece of shit Shea. We just got a little excited and maybe started too early.
Attendance was listed as 8,659. Since every season ticket holder got a ticket distributed to them, I think we are around there with full season ticket holders.
Yeah, the number we had for our game against Pittsburgh was right around 4k, and you had to request those. So I think that game was way more accurate for counts. I just think it was interesting to get a sense of where we are with Season Tickets.
I did not boo nor cheer, but when I saw stupid Shea about to come on, I hoped a bird would have done a flyover and offered him a gift in his stupid hair.
I booed Meram. Yeah, it’s probably petty and he tried to backtrack and explain his comments about how “Teams like Columbus are holding the league back” but I knew what he meant and I never forgot. He went to the sunny beaches of Orlando and thought he’d light up the league but he failed miserably and came crawling back with his tail between his legs.
I like Justin Meram and think fondly of his time here in Columbus and don't care about the feelings of the other team's players.
Oh. My. Gawd. That was me🙋🏼♂️ https://t.co/LQ6Uf093F2— Josh Williams (@josh3williams) June 19, 2019 Re-sign Josh now.
I don't know but I would think the refs would not be mls refs but would be certified by the U.S. Soccer federation. I am just drawing a blank on the correct name to call it! I believe that would be the USSF!
