In the 2-3 year period C-bus were really good, the team played in a 4231. Trapp was the 6. Tony Tchani was the 8. Higuain was the 10. The positions pretty clearly delineated. The end product tended to come from the wings, Meram and Finley.

I'd actually like to see Pulisic and Arriola switch positions. Before the arrival of Rooney, DC played in a 4141; Arriola was excellent as an 8/10 in the formation: 4 goals and 3 primary assists in 9 starts.

Sargent and Soto have 300 combined professional minutes.

    Lima isn't a left back.

Miazga and Brooks, combined, have no mobility.

Adams and McKennie, love them both, are devoid of attacking creativity.

This XI would get absolutely run over by anyone in the FIFA top 100.

What I wonder, is the school of hard knocks relative to our NATS understood by, Mekennie and Pulisic? I think Adams when healthy fits. Weston and Puly? Need work. Need evidence.

Well first of all he didn’t look that great tonight and second of all I just don’t think he’s been tested properly where he should be considered a permanent unquestioned starter.

This isn’t really the point... what the US does with a talent isn’t the same as what Chelsea and Dortmund do with a talent.

The US might need CP to play centrally. Those rich clubs don’t.

Maybe you can shoot free throws better than Shaq in his prime too... doesn’t really matter.

That said please don’t take this post as a defense of Zardes, who is very bad.

Don't know how to work this new fangled social media crap but the pic of Boyd and his parents was cool on FS1. Good job young man.

Wonder if he was feeling the muscle tension earlier - just seemed out of step, though the pass on the 1st goal was very nice... what's the word on injury?

We have also been known to play now and again with a creativeAM or two who wasn't exactly playing "centrally" - we can line up without El Pibe if that works better.

It's simply frustrating though to watch "professionals" not showing to the ball. So many 101 basic issues with our team it's not even funny. Can't press together, nobody shutting down passing lanes, etc.

If you are going to put the young ones, I like Dest better than Yedlin. There, I said it.

Not much else to be said other than Boyd is like a surprise gift on Christmas under the tree that ends up being your favorite. Fantastic official debut and glad he chose us over the Kiwis.

Lima has been playing left back for San Jose, and we need a left back.

And that line up would be no worse than what was thrown out last night.

I would place Weah in there instead of Soto for the time being.

That’s a silly thing to say considering Dest has never played a single professional club match while Yedlin has shown to be useful in the EPL.

The game moves much faster at this level than any level you have ever seen.

What looks like a bad touch to these guys is probably the best touch most people here would ever make.
