The coach won't allow us to play it easy; he himself has experience with this team when he coached Iran and he always won each time. With our players he can easily dominate. I am sure that the team knows firsthand that never to undermind the opponent that they face even if it's a easy one. So to answer your question, Hell ********ing no I am not nervous.
I think we will, but it'll be tough. I will be extremely surprised if we'll lose. We are much better in every position but they have two pluses: They are well-organised team and they have nothing to lose, unlike us. The odds as I see it are 70% win and 30% draw. I don't see any scenario that we'll lose.
Yeah it took me a while to realize how it was called offside. You can't be passed the ball/touch it if you're past the second last player to the goal. If he didnt make contact with the ball (Firmino) then it would have counted but Venezuela's awkward position of their players ironically saved them from a loss. I thought that this would help explain things as I was extremely confused when I saw the call thinking that VAR ********ed up big time.
Not so. For the qualifiers of 2014, when CQ was already in charge of Iran, they played 3 matches against Qatar (1 match at a previous round and 2 matches at the final round, of AFC qualifiers), where they got 2 draws, and only one win against them. One important thing to mention here : the match that meant the coach who was in charge of Iran, before CQ arrival on charge of team meli, was preciselly a draw at home, on AFC's 3rd round, qualifiers against Qatar.
I have been saying since the draw I much rather face Japan than Qatar cause I knew that Japan could only bring a weak team while Qatar could bring their strongest. That said, we should win convincingly. This team is on a mission to prove that they are the best and they are not going to let Qatar stand in their way.
When the coach, the media, the fans and the players keep repeating that the opponent must be respected the more I worry. You don't have to repeat it when it's obvious. You only repeat when you doubt them. That being said, I know it isn't easy to switch your brain to a right position.
Talk is talk. Talent and tactics win out on the field. I will tip my cap to them because they are Asian Champions and came back against Paraguay. That said, if they go down 2-0 to us we are likely to put up 3-0 or 4-0. Paraguay let them off the hook.
I didn't even know there was a rule that you mentioned.... I still dont understand it while understanding it... if that makes sense.
It was a very good structural game by them... then there was the shitty response by Ecuador which also made things look easier.... never a threat, careless defending and most times, very hesitant to be aggressive. This is the last run(most likely) for Suarez, Cavani and Godin... they're picking it up from where they left off in the cup.
Usually the goalkeeper is the last player, but in that situation the keeper was above the defender so the offside line is where the keeper is.
If you guys watch american football, maybe you'll be familiar with this... I feel that last VAR overturn now, after understanding it better, is borderline Tuck Rule ish lol
the ref should be given a microphone to explain to the crowd...but what language is the question...lol. Or at least showcase more on the video screen so people can see why something was overturned.
Yes and no; Paraguay is still one of the weakest teams but I feel that they got too comfortable with a 2-0 lead over them being the biggest issue here. They could have easily kept the 2-0 lead if they played more like how they did with leading up to the first 2 goals. At least that would have kept pressure on Qatar.
That’s actually a great idea! The language part makes it so hard. In Barcelona, would the refs speak in Catalan to spite the rest of Spain? LOL Refs have so much immunity and get away with not having to justify a decision. in NFL where the rules are so complicated, it helps when the referee explains the infringement and who is culpable.
uhm it was a handball? ....yes, Zambrano tried to protect his face, so it was instinct but nonetheless hands dont belong high and away from your body as it did change the direction of the shot.
I disagree, the movement of the player’s arms was not unnatural, and his hands were tucked in close to his face (not away from his body)...watching the play in real time, I honestly dont know what else you could ask of a player to do other than to take clean shots to the face
I am talking about the handball considering that you said, "did anyone see the supposed handball yesterday that gave Bolivia a penalty" yet you claimed to have watched the game. Yes you clearly missed it as people tend to in these but my point is that you can look it up in highlights if you "hate VAR" enough to bring it up.
