Some of his best work was running fast down the wings though. Especially against New Zealand late in that match. Should have had an assist but Angulo kicked it straight to the keeper.
Chile is up there in years and they simply aren't that great as they've shown over the last 3 years or so leading up to missing the WC. Alexis has been really bad for almost two years now, they can do well for bursts but its going to be difficult for that team to play well for extended periods without an injection of youth to rejuvenate the squad.
Vidal is 85% of that team. He was so key yesterday. Tons of talent, organizes the MF, poses threat in offense, makes everyone play, defends and wins almost every 50/50.... the guy is still a freaking monster in MF. They'll need him physically ok to make it far. Japan had at least 3-4 open net chances that they couldn' t put in.
Someone should start sending bottles of booze to Vidal’s hotel room so he can get all liquored up again - a bottle or two of cachaça a night should do the trick
Anyone else have issues watching the Peru game? Didn’t work on telemundo app but the braZil game working
Brazil FINALLY scores; sloppy defending from Venezuela and they finally get a goal. Seriously, I am becoming less and less afraid of this brazil... Edit: VAR overturns it! :O Turned out to be offside. Still goalless!
Kind of a shitty rule.... Goalie blocks the ball goes directly to opponent = offside Why was James goal against Peru on side? Because the defender basically passed it to James?
You're obviously not watching the game; the player shot and the defender deflected it to where it went to where the player who was offside would then assist the goal. Hence it was a legit offside. And yes he was offside even before his teammate took the shot.
Again might get overturned This ref going to need Keenu Reeves, The justice league and the Avengers haha!
Var is getting ridiculous..sometimes I feel like the referees dont even know the rules of the game themselves
Missed but if it had gone in would Gabi been offside? Haha Var if a PK Why fk Brazil over 2x to give them a. pK in the 100th minute NVM
Venezuela defended really well, but Brazil really didn't look like they had any ideas. We're looking like we might be favorites along with Uruguay, Brazil look like they are really struggling under the pressure without Neymar.
If Tite doesn't figure out how to create some width they are going to continue to struggle. Everything they do is in a tiny amount of space because Coutinho/Richarlison/Neres are all bunched too central.
Makes sense. But if they get momentum then they can get their shit together. Kinda like what happened with the olympics in 2016 when they hosted.
The kid from gremio (Everton) who came off the bench both games scares me. He’s so explosive. He had a sick goal in first game and was the driving force in the 2nd disallowed goal today.
Yeah I thought he looked really good in both games running at defenders, was the only one who did anything today. I like Arthur a lot too and think they are a lot better with him in there this game, they are ripe for the picking this tournament. Crazy that they didn't bring Costa, he would be a good player to stretch defenders and stay wide to open space.
Anyone nervous about getting a result tomorrow? I feel like we might play a little less intense because of the opponent and maybe even have ideas on giving some guys a rest. I can see james playing only a half or things like this. I like the idea of going all out and securing the top seed out og the group myself and then taking a little of the gas against Paraguy
No. If any DT knows this Qatar team it is CQ. I expect some tweaks to the lineup tomorrow given the current yellow cards out there but I would imagine the intensity and urgency will be the same as game 1
